I'm kind of interested in the John Jenkins PLA Ladies Brigades Figures..
- anyone have these?

Hey Bessieres,

Those figures are about as far from what I collect as I could possible imagine, BUT I must admit I look at them when I visit the JJD website or some of his dealers, like Nick at Crown (www.crowntoysoldiers.com) or George at Minuteman (www.mmtoysoldiers.com).

Maybe it is because I was an engineer for almost 40 years :rolleyes2: and the symmetry, conformity and precision which John sculpted them (and the Video) appeals to my "formally" structured life. I believe in a previous thread here in the JJD folder they discuss the figures selling well in China but I haven't talked to anyone who owns the sets.

If I did buy some it would have to be the Navy ones!!!!! --- Larry

Yep Larry, of the ones they've made, the NAVY would be for me too..
- but I sure wish they would make the Ladies' Militia - wearing the RED uniforms with white berets & boots and carrying submachine guns!

I have been tempted, mostly because my wife is a Captain in the US Public Health Service and wears a uniform resembling the whites ones sometimes. If only she was Chinese!

I don't know Carlos...

they look disciplined and not in a high school drill team way...

plus they carry weapons...^&grin...

with a combined force of over 2 million...the PLA is the world's largest military force...

I think these figures are popular in China...as 0.18% of the entire population is a member of the PLA...
