LAH036 Drum Horse (1 Viewer)

It retailed at $76 and then when it retired (very quickly) a few dealers had it left for $130 average (whcih I missed!), so I ended up getting mine on the secondary market for around $350 -375, i cant remember which. It has sold for over $600 and the auctions/prices I have seen lately are in the 5's. It will be interesting to see where this ends up if the auction lasts.

I wish it were re-issued (or something similiar).. **** good sculpt! One of K&C best mounted/parade figures ever!!

It was an interesting piece, I recall when it first came out there were a few

comments on damage as it was a bit fragile. Also several dealers did not

promote the line as much due to the sensitive nature of the items.

It was available for a fair amount of time, and didn't really attract much

attention until one went off on Ebay for $500+. This created quite a bit of

interest and several more quickly sold in the same range. The high was $611,

it came in a unique box with a sharp Red top. I believe it was a question of

the right piece, and proper mix of buyers at that time.

On a similar note is one of my favorite pieces the AN11 para with thompson

from the original Arnhem Series. Originally done as a special piece for

King & Country UK its run was limited to 65 pieces. Rather difficult to find it

sold for moderate prices until a couple of collectors bid it up to $405! It

topped $400 a second time, now usually brings in the $200's when offered.

Values are simply a combination of what a seller is willing to accept, and a

buyer is willing to pay.

Opinions, rants, have no affect it is all up to the buyer and the seller.

Here is a shot of the elusive AN11:

NJJA,

My Drum horse comes in a Silver box, one of the last ones in the run!

I do hate to sell it, but I eliminated the LAH line from my collection, this and a few of the old staff cars is all I have left.

Tom here is the box mine came in, Red one next to outboard motors one up

from bottom.

You should have no problem moving all of those items, as they are quite

popular.

Nice John!

Ya, I am keeping Goering's Staff car to use in my Luftwaffe airfield! Hitler and Himmler are ready to shuffle out, Musso already flew the coop!

I knew the Drum horse came in 2 different boxes, I have the later Silver that matches some of the other LAH stuff. Pretty neat stuff. I love the Drum Horse, unfortunately, it doesn't fit in my upcoming scheme, but it is one of the finest pieces they made, the detail is awesome.

Tom:

Yes it is, good luck selling your items. Be sure to post pictures of your

Luftwaffe airfield! I bet its going to be great!

Well,
it will have:
1. Goering staff car set,
2. Original K&C ME Polystone plane and Galland
3. The Komet
4. Throw in 2 different V2s
5. V2 Support vehicles
6. V1 set up.
7. Various Frontline glossy pilots
8. Might put a few Red Baron sets off to the side for nostalgic purposes!

I figure at this rate, my 1200 sq ft basement should lift off!

Got a long way to go, but I may get them out and take some pre photos anyways, gotta play with the toys sometime too.
