To coincide with both the new Dambusters film and the unveiling of the new Bomber Command memorial in Green Park London in the next few months, two new books are on the horizon. James Holland who wrote an enjoyable history of the Battle of Britain releases 'Dambusters' on 10th May (just preordered this) and Martin Bowman releases 'The Lancaster- reaping the whirlwind' on the 1st May. This is meant to be the authoratitive guide to the aircraft, with chapters on the Dambusters, Battle of Britain memorial flight etc ,Sounds good.

Also just ordered D Day and the Battle for Normandy (Simon Trew) Ian Fleming's Commandos ( Nicolas Rankin) and The Stones of London (Leo Hollis) (History of twelve of London's most famous buildings)

Thanks Mitch, sounds good.

The opening of the memorial sounds like it is approaching fast, maybe May/June. Am hoping to go up there for it but doubt I will get too near , it will probably be press and top brass only.
