I have wanted a large hedgerow for a backdrop for a long time...

A really dense "edge of the woods" looking piece...

saplings...new growth...small shrubs...something that looked like the woods had stopped it's expansion...

I made this piece 2 foot long and 4 1/2 inches deep...

easy work for me cause the sloppier you are...the more realistic it looks...

I may have found my calling...hehehehehe:rolleyes:

I put in enough foliage so you can't see through it...

I painted some of the foliage a couple of different colors to represent new and old growth...

Along with what I already had...I got some really unusual interesting foliage/shrubs/debris etc...from Markd1214 in the mail and was really happy to see the unusual stuff he mailed me...

I put some of it in the hedgerow also...

the base is some scrap 1/4 birch..doubled up for a 1/2 base...I made a wood base so it would be level...steady and sturdy...

I beveled the edges of the wood base with a sander to represent an incline of fallen debris on the woods edge...

I put about an inch of green styrofoam on top of the birch and beveled the edges of it down also...

my only regret so far...I wish I had made it longer...so I'll just make another one the same size I guess...

you can see a little bit of white glue on one of the shrubs...sorry I get in a rush...it will dry clear...

I used some Jenkin's 1812 US Army marching figures in the diorama...

Thank you Scott...I appreciate that...

I turned the hedgerow around and shrubbed out the other side a little different...

I figured I could get two looks with the same piece...

not much difference really...just some different shrubs...

wow.that hedgerow is very, very, very high.
that could probably be a 1:6 bush!
great job.

Excellent work, Michael! You could use your pieces for wargaming in 54mm, too.

Prost!

I think the entire quote was...

"easy work for me...cause the sloppier you are...the more realistic it looks...
