Does anyone else keep finding themselves running out of room in their private message box? The 50 post limit fills up pretty quickly, especially because I like to keep some old messages for future reference. Some of the other forums I'm on have inboxes that allow several hundred messages to be archived indefinitely.

So Pete and Shannon, have you ever considered expanding the message limit to say 100? I realize that there is a cost to this, but I think it would make this forum even better. If it's not in the cards, no problem, I'm just thinking out loud here.

CS,i have excactly the same problem. It does tend to fill up quick and i'm often deleting stuff to free up space.Would welcome a bigger inbox if it was possible.

Gentle Friends,

I, too, would enjoy and appreciate a larger private message box. Such an improvement would be very useful to me.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi Guys,
There are actually only 5 people on the entire forum with between 45-50 messages saved in their PM account so I don't think this is an issue for most people.
The reason it is set at 50 is because it encourages people to clear out obsolete messages instead of just keeping everything and taking up unnecessary memory space.
What I do and I recommend you do as well is to use the PM email notification feature which embeds the entire received message in the email and then keep the important ones in a "forum messages" folder in your saved emails.
Also check to see if you have the feature turned on that sends you a private message that people have read the PM you sent them. There is no reason to store these verification messages. You can also unclick the option to save a copy of each PM you send. Most of the time you wouldn't need to have this option turned on.
This forum is incredibly image-rich and I'd rather use the memory space for more pictures than saved messages.
Hopefully these suggestions will help you keep plenty of room in your PM box.
Regards,

Once had it up to about 25 total, then just started cleaning out every few weeks. 50 is just about right I believe;)

Gee I am in select company again I suppose.;):D Actually I think I am at 40 at the moment but I fill the box for time to time. Not a big problem since I periodically clean or download the messages I want to save. I would rather have images for sure.
