Launch of Replica Metal Soldiers & Models. (1 Viewer)

I recently ordered a Life Guards Band in State Dress from Replica Model Soldiers - and to my surprise and Delight, I received a gift from Andrew ( the new owner).

Andrew had seen some of my other posts - which have included Britains old "hunt" figures - one of which is called "The Meet" - and includes various hunt figures assembling before "The Chase" - which is another set of more active figures, galloping after the fox.

In both sets - now, long retired, there are female figures, riding side-saddle - and originals of these have managed to elude me so far. Well, Andrew noted this - and dug out one of the moulds he inherited - and cast me up a figure of one from "The Meet" - and included it in one of his packages - as a gift! How nice of him - so thank you Andrew, that was a very nice gift indeed.

Between other figures, I asssembled and painted her - giving her a pale grey horse. Here's a few pics attached - including one of her alongside some more of her chums and dogs - now in my display cabinet. Thanks again Andrew - she looks wonderful, very much appreciated.:salute:::D

Very nice JB,

Andrew what pieces of the hunt sets do you have?

Thanks Scott, glad you like 'em - might even get them completed later on today.

As to Andrew's hunt figures. Funnily enough - we discussed this a bit - when I sent him a thankyou e-mail for the Gal. She was actually headless from the mould - but Andrew added a male-bowler head - which I adapted slightly, by giving her a bun at the rear of the head, made from a tiny piece of milliput.

I was also after the Galloping Ladies - from the Hunt part of this small series - but he advised me that he hadn't turned up any of those yet - but he advised that he had the Standing horse Gent and the Guy on foot also ( which I already have repaired originals of), from the Meet set.

There was also a similar figure to the Lady sitting side-saddle - but wearing a Top Hat, in the Britains original - and Andrew said he would try and find a Top Hat head - so maybe that figure might be recreated too.

So............maybe well worth an inquiry - using the web-site? jb
