For those interested in T.E. Lawrence and the Arab Revolt, Clio History has a variety of resources. See https://www.cliohistory.org/sitemap

You will need to scroll halfway down the page to get to Lawrence. The bibliography looks to be particularly good. I’m not sure the site has been updated in the last few years because it’s missing a 2016 book by Neil Faulkner, Lawrence of Arabia’s War, which received good reviews when it was first published.

T.E. Lawrence holds such a high spot in history, both in military and literature, that collecting publications on him has been and continues to be a very expensive proposition. The reading public never seems to get enough of him. If you never read anything else in regards to Lawrence, his 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom' is an absolute must and if you get bitten by the 1st or early edition bug, good luck.:wink2: -- Al

20+ years go I was in a used book store browsing and I noticed a copy of Revolt in the Desert. I already owned Seven Pillars as well as Revolt but it was on the 25 cent shelf and I grabbed it thinking maybe it was cleaner copy than the one I own already. When I opened it I got a shock. Someone had cut two obituary's and saved them in the book. It was a neat find.

That’s was a cool find! I recently found a first edition of With Lawrence in Arabia for an excellent price. It’s always fun when you make a find like this.

I’m currently reading Cairo 1921: Ten Days That Shook The Middle East by C. Brad Faught. It’s a detailed look at the Conference that included Churchill, Lawrence and famed Arabist Gertrude Bell about how Iraq (then called Mesopotamia), Jordan and Palestine came to be, the last two being part of Transjordan; Jordan is 6/7ths of Transjordan and Palestine (later Israel), 1/7th. The book is not that long and Amazon has it at a fraction of the price.

The book has a fantastic bibliography and is very well researched.

Just started watching the movie today for the umpteenth time. Loved the movie since I was a kid and the early scene at the well between Peter O'toole and Omar Shariff is an amazing exchange.

It reminds me of my time in desert.

It’s one of my favorites although not completely accurate.
