Neever seen it from start to end, so decided to watch it and realised [had been told before by a film buff friend] that despite having a runtime of over 3 hours and 30 minutes (227 minutes in its restored version), the film is notable for having zero female speaking roles. Lets hope the woke brigade do not try to cancel it.

I’m a bit surprised you’ve never seen it before; it’s my favorite movie. Your comment, though, about the absence of women doesn’t make any sense since historically no women were involved in fighting, unless the comment was made tongue in cheek.

Robert Bolt wrote the script as he did for A man for all seasons. A masterpiece of a film and could they assemble all that talent now? The thread of rescuing the Arab from the desert and then having to shoot him is pure genius.

Excellent film, acting and soundtrack and a heck of a lot more riveting than wading through Lawrence's book, Seven Pillars of Wisdom. I read it once, but it's such a long book that it's quite a struggle to finish it.

You won't see its like again can you imagine assembling that amount of extras. It would all be done by CGI nowadays.
