Now feeling that I’m on a roll, I decided to convert this olde vintage piece into a mtd figure. I e always disliked the standing pose as the right leg is obviously shorter than the left leg. So snip snip and wire inserts were used to fabricate new riding legs. I reused the boots. Putty is used to build up the legs.

I spent some time looking for bits to animate the horse

The Gardes d Honneur was a short lived orgn mostly set up by Gen Randon Charles Joseph Pully. By that time the long serving veteran was 62 years old and became the colonel of the 1st Regt. I could only find a single pic of him on the internet, bald and clean shaven. I may try to model this feature. We’ll see.

Details such as the haunches, the upper legs and buttocks need to be reworked

Love your work on the sculpting side. Helps me with my modelling on smaller miniatures.

Thx for yr nice comment. In smaller scale, the current tendency is to sculpt chunkier looking figures. Makes them look more attractive.

Read up on Pully. He was quite old when he was tasked with setting up the 1st Garde de Honneur

Balding. Small built. I decided that the le cimier fig was too rigid. So I snipped off the head and substituted a Historex head. I saved the shako.

I'll read-up on this gentleman. I find I do this with head swaps on smaller miniatures. I note that plastic heads are just as good on metal bodies as metal heads.

Hi GH

finally moving on this piece. I shortened his legs, improved the seat.

Adding the arms here. Substituting wire arm for the original right arm with sword.
