We have a customer who has "LeMan's soldiers. Civil War and Zulu War. Many pieces of each with accessories. Any suggestions of where I can look for their value?"

Can anyone point the way?

Hi, Padre! Spillway Toy Soldiers offers LeMan's and conversions of LeMan's in their catalog. Their website is at http://spillwaytoysoldiers.homestead.com/ They have a price list posted on their website, but it dates to 1999. Still, it provides somewhat of a baseline to start.

I checked eBay, but searches starting with "le mans" as the key words didn't return any current auctions for Le Man's collection figures or sets.

I also checked in O'Brien's "Collecting American-Made Toy Soldiers". Le Man's was still listed as a newer-maker when Richard wrote "Collecting Toy Soldiers", and so, he doesn't list figures and prices. Spillway is probably the best source at this point.

Hope that helps, prosit!

Hi Pete,

Brad (Jazz) knows the owner, original maker of these. Personal experience, they are quite nice and I am happy to have them in my collection, I have paid on average between $5 and 10 per figure. Some of the more unique sets like the sniper in the tree, paid more. The original retail I am sure was higher. Neat pieces.

Thanks for that info, Tom! O'Brien listed contact info for James Man, but since the book was published in the mid-90's, I wasn't sure how fresh the info is.

I spoke to Mike De Marco, who owns LeMans. Original pricing (per figure) was $24. Defer to Tom on secondary pricing.
