Leaky Figures (1 Viewer)

It has come to my attention that there appear to be some figures whose original color 'leaks' through after you're done painting and sealing them.
So far, I've only come across this with BMC figures cast in Indigo , namely Alamo Mexicans and Civil War Union.
I'm currently experimenting with different methods of trying to prevent this, the latest batch has been pre-sealed with matte spray prior to priming.
We'll see what happens......

Are you priming the figures before you begin painting? If not, a good primer coat ( I prefer white) ought to prevent this. Apply the primer in thin coats until you cannot see any of the underlying color. Let dry thoroughly. If you're still having problems, perhaps its the primer - not opaque enough. Try another brand. Sometimes mixing a little white glue in with the primer will both seal off the undercolor and provide a surface for your top coat of paint to stick to.
