Well-said Tony. Given recent tragedies the occasion of remembrance is especially poignant this year.

I caught Words of War on TV last night, although I felt humbled I was thankful that amongst all the drivel on the box there was something of merit and substance to round off Remembrance Sunday.

Evzone

thats what i caught last night i was rivited to it from the minute it started. And i liked the way the commercials were very short.

Especially when the relatives were reading the letters. I was moved by the DIA letter froma young Pvt to his father saying 'if you read this father' i was then amazed that it came up with, he survived the Somme and WW1

I sat at the end of this thinking of the people that gave so much for so little in return and do so at the moment as well. i did nothing for a good 15mins apart from stare at the TV.

regards

Tony

I think the programme and it's content would have been better served if it was broadcast earlier in the evening perhaps to a wider audiance.

Likewise, I thought the mix of narration from relatives, serving personnel both full and part-time and the odd 'personality' worked well to convey the pathos and benevolence of a generation faced with such suffering.

Given our current troubles, how would the Nation react to such issues today?
