I hope that all my fellow Britains collectors are just as happy as I am. After reading this week's Treefrog Rivet and seeing the "Note from Richard Walker" section, I can't help but feel good about the "new Britains".

Apparently they have heard a lot of our cries, complaints and suggestions. It was so good to read that they have improved their figures beginning with the latest ACW series. I like that the face sculpting has been upgraded, that "the shades of color have been punched up a bit", and that they are finally offering many single figures for sale and not just the ones in sets.

Although I have resisted diving into the ACW line I do collect other Britains stuff, namely AWI and I've been waiting for improvements in these areas. I sense and hope that the improvements made with the ACW will spill over to their other lines as well. It's good to see Richard and Ken taking this company forward in the relatively short time they have been at the helm. So many good things have occurred since they took over and many more positives appear to be on the horizon. Keep up the good work Richard & Ken!!

I am curious to hear from the rest of you.

I would tend to agree with you. After looking at the latest Napoleonics offerings I noticed that the colors have indeed been improved. In both toy and matte finishes , Britains is moving in the right direction. Nice work Richard and to your team !

I'm very impress with what they've done and looking forward to their Zulu War Series which I feel will be a real winner......The Lt.

Thank you guys. It has been a lot of fun - Ken and I really enjoy what we are doing. It would not be half as much fun or improved nearly as much as it has without all of your great ideas and kind input - keep it coming.

I love the new britains also but I don,t like the black dots for eyes on the napoleonic figures.:( I wish you guys would put more effort into improving on the painting of the eyes because the face painting can make or break a figure and I think they would look 100% better if the eyes had a white background and then the black dot for an eye.

Any chance on seeing some improved eyes on future figures??? I love the new napoleonic stuff and look forward to seeing many more to come and have purchaced all the new sets to date but I would really like to see improved eyes.

Keep up the GREAT work and try and have an EYE:D for detail on future figures.

Will do...........The Lt.

I,m realy looking forward to the New Indian Mutiny figures,
The only sugestion I would make is to try and make a shorter
timeframe between anouncing a product and releasing it.
I feel it is one area Britains is still well behind the eight ball
compared to say K and C.
maybe its a sign of the times but when you hear a product is coming
to the market you expect it yesterday not in 6 months time.
just my 2 cents.

For me, the fact that a new Zulu War series is announced already means I have time to save up for it. I let other items pass (from any brand) to be able to collect the whole Zulu War range instead.
So for people who don't have a fortune to spend on their hobby (I don't say you do) it's nice to be able to plan ahead and not miss out on the action.

So it does have it's advantages

Just my two cents, with the current extent of their product line and the number of items that have to be sclupted, proofed, casted, send to China and await their returned for final approval plus all of us spoiled brats including yours truly wanting their request filled ASAP along with the $$$$$ needed it's quite understandable that it could easlity take several months for the products to hit the shelfs. Look at the excitement it arouses when announced and gives us all a chance to plan ahead along with saving our coins to support their efforts. "That's my 2 cents and I'm sticting to it.......The Lt.

Hi Fishead - have a good look at the new ACW pictures that Pete just posted - you will happily note that you have been heard!

Thank you,

Richard

fair points , I can understand wanting to save
etc for figures.
But for me I still feel it would be better to release the info
on your products a month or 2 at most before they are ready to hit the shelves.
A lot of toy soldier companys are cottage industries
so you expect to wait a fair while when you order,
Britains though doesnt realy fall under that category.

Just different ways of doing business. We prefer to keep to the way we are doing it for a number of reasons - some already mentioned, others more obscure. Always appreciate the different view points, but of course do not always have to agree either.

Hi
no problem ,I guess patience is a virtue I havent yet aquired.
As I said I,m realy looking forward to the indian mutiny figures.:)

Hi There! Another reason to show images of upcoming figures in advance, is for the collectors to see where we are going with the ranges. Unlike the previous owners of W. Britain we are developing lines of figures that can be used to support each other. Even if you do not like a few of the figures in any one release... you can see that there will be new sets released that will still interact and support earlier sets. This will allow some of you to be more selective, and for those of you who feel that you must have each set, you can build a nice scene without duplicating several poses over and over.
You will see this with all of the important ranges in the second half 2007 catalog this fall. With the matt ranges you will see new sets for Yorktown, Waterloo, ACW, WWI & WWII and the introduction of another important range. There will also be additions to the Redcoats/Bluecoats line with an interesting spin off!
With that said, we are however increasing the number of basic poses that will be availible as singles so you can by one, or several.

Looking forward to the other important range and like the idea of previewing the figures from each series iin advance. Gives us who are on a very fixed income time to set aside on nickles, dimes and quaters to add to our selected collections. It's a great idea and well thought of........The Lt.
