Does anyone know if Britains made Limited Edition one piece sets for various toy shows like the Chicago show? Someone told me they saw a one piece limited edition figure (a run of 300 total) for the 2006 Chicago show.

Hi Dick,

Yes they did some single figure sets that go with the Red Coats line. I can look up the information for you but it wont be until later this evening. They did a figure for the special Dinner for the London Show as well. I will look up the set numbers and names of the figures for you later.

All the best

I recall they did when it was still Britains Petites. Many ere existing castings painted in a different regiment but I do remember a Blackhawk Indian figure that was unique.

Hi Guys,

I have the Blackhawk Indian and will discuss it in a few.

The answer to the question of figures given away is in London on 2 Dec 2005 at the special dinner given by WBritains at the National Army Museum the night before the big Toy Soldier Show, the newest line from Britains was introduced with an individually numbered Private of the First Foot Guards from the then new History of the British Army Range.

In 2006 they gave a Private of the 50th Regiment of Foot to folks at the dinners in Chicago and in London.

In 2007 they gave away a beautiful Coldstreams Guards Drummer c 1815 at the London Event I dont have any information saying they gave this figure away at Chicago.

The Black Hawk Figure you mentioned is from the autumn of 1994 and was a limited edition figure of 2500 pieces world wide. However, if you attended the dinner before the Chicago show you received a specially numbered one. I dont have much information on how many were given at the Chicago show but the numbers would likely have been no higher than 400 (just a guess here) The Set number for this figure is 5948.

I wouldnt be surprised if I missed some other dates and events so please fill in the gaps guys.

All the best

Dave: Thanks very much. I continue to be amazed at the scope of your knowledge of Britains.

There was also a special figure given away at the Valley Forge show in 1998 (I think) It was a 13 Va. Regiment private at Valley Forge 1777-78 I sculpted while Richard and I worked for Ertle/W.Britain.

Now the next question is -- does anyone know what these figures are worth or what they sell for. I don't think I have ever seen them listed on ebay or elsewhere.

Hi Dick

Well the Black Hawk pops up every now and again and I dont recall seeing it sell for more than 20 bucks. I was given one recently that doesnt have a box its a nice figure. The other ones are much more elusive. I saw the figure from 2005 in a Vectis Auction this past year and I believe it made in the neighborhood of 100 GBP or 200 US. I may be off on this but thats what I think it made. As for the other two figures I have not seen either of them on ebay but I have not been looking for them so if someone else has please let us know I an certainly interested in how they did at auction.

Hope this helps

All the best

Interesting thread...I am just finishing the event figure for this year. For those of you that were able to get the Club set 'Ready for Duty' and last year's event figure...it will make a nice addition!
