I also just got back from seeing it with my son. One Civil War buff and one vampire buff. Quality father/son time . It was a fun movie and I agree Mary never looked hotter !!

A quick look at the novel's summery does not show the Gettysburg scenes. THAT would have been recorded in the history books. The trick is that these alternate histories have to occur in "secret." The scenes were a pretty good use of some B to B+ reenactors.

I question whether President Lincoln could have organized the collection of silver, had it forged into weapons, and delivered in time from July 1 to July 3. Stanton maybe.
