Ok, I lost 2 hrs of my life last weekend that I will never get back. I usually can find something about a movie that is entertaining, but this one IMO was idiotic. I don't know if it was just a stupid idea or a statement of some sort. Even the effects were hokey.

One thing, I was cheering for the Vampires throughout the movie..............of course disappointed as usual.

I saw this with my son. He likes zombies and I like ACW , so 2 hours of quality father / son time .

I enjoyed the movie and took it for what it was. Bad guys got it in the end, as well they should :wink2:

Tom, but how did your son like it? That was the demographic they were shooting for...Michael

I wished that they had stuck to events that weren't so well documented. We all know that vampires weren't at Gettysburg, at least not whole units of them.

I'll bet the "Lost Cause" folks had trouble with the South allied with vampires. The Twilight Zone disposed of that idea of the South allied with "evil" back in the 1960s.

Friends that know the clothing and uniforms complimented the 1830s - 40s scenes for accuracy.

The chief female villain was not interesting at all as a character.

My 8 year old actually loves vampires, I think they provide a decent thrill. Honestly, he did comment at the end the wrong guys won, kid after my own heart!

Again, end of day, 2 hours of my life I can never recover, best part was the Vampires, especially the female one!

Yes female vampires are hot! Dangerous... but hot!

So pleased to make a meaningful contribution to the thread!

They don't call them Lost Causers anymore. Their mantra is heritage, not history. Go to Facebook if you want get your fill. Anyway, yes, they did have an issue with it.

I guessed correctly. At least they have Gods and Generals.

I never thought the CSA was evil, just wrong and behind the times.

What does the "Facebook" comment mean?^&confuse

There are all these heritage groups on Facebook who tend to prattle on and usually makes comments or assertions that have no basis in fact. If you follow Brooks Simpson's blog Crossroads, you'll see them examined from time to time, especially when they say something particularly dumb.

Thank you.

I enjoyed the movie more than I expected. I was definitely raised in the "heritage of the lost cause." My ideas about the South have changed a great deal, but it was still tough for me to see them allied with vampires. Both because of the association with diabolical evil and because I despise vampires. I love myths and think we re-write them at our own peril.

I doesn't make sense to use a renewable labor force into food. :wink2: That's like eating the seed corn.
