As most of you have already pointed out, we brought some special preview figures to the London show. Most notably, our SdKfz 251/3 Halftrack and Command figure as well as the next 8 new Retreat from Russia figures plus the 4 figure Sledge. Here are some close up images of these pieces with some additional detail regarding them.

SdKfz 251/3 - This will be released in our next batch of pre-orders most likely shipping middle of July. It comes with both the radio man in the back as well as a driver figure. The latter you can see his face from the front and his fully body in his chair when you look through the open top and back. The antenna can be removed which allows for placement of the new officer figure (or other figures not shown) in the rear. The rear 251 doors open and close though the officer can stand inside, another good display option is to open the rear doors and have the officer essentially instructing the radio man in the back as we displayed it at the show.

251/3 - Note the canteens on the side are brown, not the lighter DAK colors as shown here.

New Officer Figure - this figure will have two variants, one with hat as shown and a second with a covered helmet as per the figure on display at the show.

As for the retreat from Russia, we previewed the first 10 production figures along with the next 8 new figures for the range and the Russian Sledge. This should hopefully give all of you some idea of the level of commitment we have for doing the Retreat from Russia!

Here is a more detailed image of the sledge. To me, this piece encapsulates the range and can be used in conjunction with the rest of the figures or as a wonderful stand alone scene.

Retreat from Russia - Sledge with 4 figures. Driver, Cantiniere caring for wounded soldier, and Freezing soldier sitting on the rear. This last figure's expression really captures what this range is all about!

We hope you like the new products. The 251 and figures are due out soon, the sledge later this summer.

Best,

Matt

that Halftrack is about as bad *** as they come, simply put...Sammy

Love the look of the German officer! :salute::

Retreat from Russia range is absolutely fantastic. I didn't expect such range at all, this is great surprise and at least some of the figures (like NAP0494) I for sure not gone miss.

A single cropped photo of the sledge......I just don't get it.

Were these preview figures on display in London or is this the Manhattan Project?

Why exclude the greater FL community who are online and scattered around the globe.....

You were not excluded, you just didn't look at ALL the images from the London Toy Soldier Show !!!!

Enjoy :)

John

Actually, I had enjoyed those photos so much (a sincere thanks to UK_BOD and others for posting) that I asked about the sledge and got......from FL...........pretty much the same photo (well the same angle anyway).

It's a vignette with four figures, a horse and a sledge all sculptured in Russia. This makes it a potentially exquisite release. Yet FL themselves couldn't seem to be bothered taking a few half-decent photos (from different angles) at the show and releasing them for Nap fans worldwide to enjoy.

Like I said, I don't get it.

Guess I'll just wait til it's release later in the summer....maybe learn to surf in the meantime {sm2}

Funny there no pleasing some members I wonder why ?:wink2::rolleyes:

IMO its good advertising 101 there is a reason playboy doesn't put the centerfold shot on the cover, and its to get you interested. I'm sure all will be revealed (pun intended) in good time by FL and company. The retreat is looking tempting but just can't do it.

Honestly. The retreat is probably the best Vignette I have ever seen. Well done FL!!!

Guys,

I am usually at the show for about two hours in which I tend to speak to the store owners I have known for a few tears now (Clive, Ken, etc) and then pick up my pre-orders. I then look at my favourite ranges, see the breakdown of my images and then start snapping away. I don't follow First Legion so I won't know if it is a new release unless marked (I would then get shots of it). I try to cover as much as possible especially the not so well known brands (not available outside the UK) and the plastic retailers. If you want specific shots remind me on the forum in the run up to the next show and I see what I can find out from the respective retailers.

Best wishes

Andy

Well if that's an offer to lend me your playboy collection until the vignette is released, FL can take as long as they like....{sm3}
