After the disgracefull attacks on the police and royal family by rioters and millions of pounds of property damage. I wanted to express my gratitude to the police and my best wishes to those police officers who were injured by idiots.

And not a ounce of politics in sight!!!!

The trouble with all of these protests is that they get infiltrated by the Rentamob crowd. They are the ones who always have their faces covered. It's a pity they are not arrested on sight.

If you cover your face you should be immediately arrested. Apparently at one point Charles was conversing with some of the abusers. Amazing man in that situation. Wonder if thats a capital offence attacking a royal??? I think its probably still on the statutes as such.

Heads will roll may well be true!!

Apologies if my post in the deleted thread went political, it was not my intention. The violence was appalling and the Police and Royal protection officers did show great restraint, its only just dawning on some of the protestors around the Prince's car that they were amongst armed officers who as I say showed great restraint.

I agree with Alan re the people in this crowd, they couldn't have all been students, judging by some of the morons leering into news cameras they looked like they wouldn't be accepted into a Zoo never mind a University.

As I said earlier my flatmate used to boast that her A levels spelled N.U.D.E the wonders of clearing and getting bums on seats to aid finance. She did not even get a classification after three years now, that just goes to show University is not for everyone and should not be available for everyone as some are just not academic. Might be harsh but, its a statement fact

I have just heard on the news where the protection unit was about to deploy firearms so, that would have been interesting and now, the IPCC is asking for witnesses for a lad allegedly hit by a police baton. Wonder how long the list of witnesses will be for the mounted officer who was dragged off his mount and savagely beaten.

Sometimes batons slip from the intended area of impact and thats unfortunate but, I hope we don't see some form of witch hunt against officers.

The royals did leave in an large convoy but, nobody was going to do any other in the circumstances

Londoners like Parisians feel the need every so often to have a bit of a riot. Ever since Watt Tyler and John Ball lead the peasant's revolt back in the 14 Century civil disturbance has been a regular cyclical event in London as in Paris. I would not read too much into it.

What a load!! I did not know what it was. If she did not then it shows not everyone should be allowed to go to Uni and if she did then she IMO should be birched.

One of the most disrespectful and disgraceful acts I have seen in quite a while

Pity she had not slipped of and broke her stupid neck

Students do stupid things they regret later in life all the time. I am sure the vast majority of them meant no real harm. Just youthful high spirits and a bit of alcohol or something stronger. Protest is part of the British tradition. I am pretty sure Gilmour feels like a bit of an idiot especially since a few thousand pound rise in tuition fees at University is not going to bankrupt his old man any time soon.

There was also a girl doing the same thing on the news I did not look at the pics properly and thought it was the same and commented but, same applies.

I don't really agree that its something we do, youthful jinks etc yes, we have all got drunk and being a geordie I have had some wild nights but, have we all smashed windows swung on war memorials burned cars attacked policemen well, NO. I have so little patience for youthful excuses its just lack of respect plain and simple.

Its also amusing when I hear about our right to protest as if its enshrined in legislature its not and, I hope banning orders are implimented and adhered to and, heartened when the Met say they will get more tough for future demonstrations. Personaly I would water cannon them nobody likes to give in quicker than when your cold and wet. If you feel the need to march then do it in the correct manner as soon as you rush police lines pick up bricks and other weapons then the gloves are off and your fair game.

Maximum sentences for those who will in the next few months be having the boys in blue come knocking early in the morning on their doors.

It may sound harsh but, its a little galling watching these events and then hearing on the news etc from sections who live in ivory towers and still think its almost Enid Blyton land we live in that you have to get this out of your system. For me, and I suspect many its Tosh

If these idiots see fit to terrorise a neighborhood then they should be treated as terrorists. Pity we can't turn one of the off shore uninhabited islands off the coast of Scotland into our version of Guantanimo Bay.

Fully agree but, would not want to contaminate one of the nice scottish islands with this rubbish.

Agree totally if you want to act like a terrorist then you should be treat like one
