Long Barrel Panzer III v. Short Barrel Panzer III (AK19 and AK50) (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have any ideas as to how they could adapt the AK50 turret to the AK19 tank body......seems that a drill bit will be required to enlarge the round slot in the tank body.....But I don't know how I would go about this?

Or would it be easier to chop off the male part at the bottom of the turret?

Speaking from experience, be very careful with the removal of material. It can crack unexpectedly in places that really should not be cracked. It is a very hard to work material. Dremals are the best power tools not 3/4 or 1/2 drills. Be very very patient. The material is very hard to remove and is best done over a long peiod of time. Think of trying to drill a fire glazed dish or flower pot. The manufacturing process makes the material very dense and prone to brittle fracturing.

I would not even attempt resculpting big areas like enlarging the hole in the tank body or removing the male part of the turret. I have seen some big shock fractures of polystone AFVs where the box showed no signs of damage. On one piece, the upper part of the drivers cab of an Opel truck had broken off.

I got my NEW AK50 PANZER III today am totaly stocked. IT IS AWESOME!!!
I also picked up the M41 Semovente SPG.
Lucky Me!!:D

Vezzolf,
I paint them myself. Gray is pretty easy to paint, and I just weather the vehicle a little. I cheat a little by masking all the treads, seats, tires, and attached equipment. That way the gear is in the original K&C colors and blends in perfect.

I'm with Michael (sceic2).
If you do chose to enlarge the hole, I would use a grinding bit on a Dremal. I've used this on a couplke of polystone tanks and it is the polystone takes the grinding well, and in a controlled manner.

Gents, I would appreciate some review comments from those of you that have already received the M41 Semovente. Also, the "command figure" appears to ba a DAK type. Am I right about that? Regards.
