For all you collectors with old sets, Just been reading a book on preserving antiques and it tells you to avoid placing lead articles near acid material such as oak and chipboard as this will react with the lead.. so any one using an oak cabinet better watch out.

Do not know if the newer stuff would be effected, love to have a run down from Richard or ken on care of modern britains....

Thanks for that info Andrew, I didn't know that. Thankfully I am not a fan of oak so I safe (mine are in glass cases :) )

As for the newer stuff I don't believe they have any lead content.
