I was watching it at 185.00 and it was a buy it now for 220.00 i think, and someone must have used the buy it now because it still have another day to go, i should have used the buy it now and not missed out

$220 is a good price, this is usually a 250 to 300 piece mint in the box.
Just a general comment, but the pieces that really bring big value are pieces that are pristine mint in the box. When you are trying to buy retired pieces, I know that I go after these and it seems most others do also.
That being said, there are plenty of examples of "used" display pieces that bring big bucks if they are rare enough.
I think right now, you have to be a smart buyer, some of the prices are low, therefore it represents a great buying opportunity if you are looking for the retired stuff. As for the rarities, they are slowly disappearing and you just have to wait for someone ready to sell.
As for current stuff, with its high prices, the retired stuff looks to be a bargain, the Older retired stuff also seems to be holding its value nicely whereas I am not too sure about the new stuff. $225 for a King Tiger, I think you should only buy this if you really want it in your collection, not as an investor/collector.
Speaking for myself, I am a completist first and foremost, however, I try to only spend "bigger" money on pieces I know I can easily sell if need be.
As though with every buying market, a price is worth whatever someone is willing to pay.
