January 9th 1945...battle weary GI.s of the 359th Inf Reg. 90th Inf Div. emerge from a thickly wooded pine forest to take the road between Nothum and Berle. An M7 Priest has backed off the road into a small track to make use of the tree cover and is laying down a curtain of smoke and HE shells to keep the Germans heads down...The Tough Hombres of the 90th would go on to take Berle, and not without sacrifice..but this veteran division who first set foot in Europe on June 6th 1944 and would fight on into Czechoslovakia and would end the war as 3rd in the list for the most days in actual combat would not be stopped!!!.

Hope you like my tribute to the 90th.

Thanks to all you guys who took the time to make such nice comments on my dio..!!....This one had a special meaning for me as i was for several years involved in a living history group and my contribution was based on the 315th Med Btn attached to the 90th Inf Div.
I had over the years built up a reasonable impression of a front line Aid Station and gave demo"s for the public...But one day you wake up and decide that your just a little to old to pass as a Combat Medic...So time to move on, but i will always have a soft spot and a special interest in the 90th....The Tough Ombres.

Very fine, love your detail work!

Thanks Nathan and all you guy"s once more for your comments on my Dio. the M7 Priest DD030 is the first one KC turned out, i decided to try and sell it after buying the newer release..Lucky for me nobody wanted to buy it so i decided to do a bit of a re-build i removed the raised edge star on each side and replaced it with a decal..added logs to the sides, sandbagged the front..removed the shells and replaced them with the correct cardboard transit tubes..added a backplate to the fighting compartment and finally gave it a drybrushing with white oilpaint to give it a frosty appearence.... someone once stated on the forum that he was embarrasingly pleased with a dio he had built, well i guess that just about sums it up!!!!.

So this is what that fabulous groundwork you posted before was destined for! Fantastic work and tribute! Really outstanding!

You did a great job. Brought back childhood memories of upstate NY winters (freezing & humid) that I would rather have stayed forgotten
