We continue to expand our Late War German series. This series currently focuses on late war German Infantry and Vehicles that can be flexibly used for any theater or battle including the Battle of the Bulge. The figures are done in Winter Camo and can be used for Western Front or Eastern Front. The vehicles for the series have been based mostly in Hungary, but again flexibility is the driving force behind the series rather than our usual battle specific approach to doing things.

Very Disappointing.

Just copies of previous figures.

Nothing new.

There are some variations with arms in different positions, SS changed to Heer and different heads, but essentially rereleased figures.

I don’t have a problem with that, though.

I don't have a problem with that either although I would think that since the basic figures are the same that the price would be a little lower...

I’m not sure why that should be the case, surely the costs won’t be lower.

I would expect the cost to be lower since existing sculpts are in use (the initial investment is already covered).
I obviously do not have access to the information this is just logic.

yes, I would have thought that is entirely logical

you would be a fool to pay that asking price.

I do not collect this range, but these look great!
I see it as a plus to be able to combine the "Late War" and "Bulge" Germans for a larger display.
In a large display you pose the similar figures at a slightly different angle and they will look like a different figure altogether.

Lovely.

Thank you.

They must be sculpted from the same sculptor as all have same long faces :smile2:

Apologies, I am confused.

Are these reproductions with slight differences at a higher price than the originals?

See Larry’s post on page 1 of this thread: essentially the same figures but different arms/legs positioning and paint jobs. I’m not sure “reproductions” is the right term. Perhaps they all come from the same molds. The prices are the same as the previously issued ones and I wouldn’t have expected the prices to be lower. That’s not the way things work.

Collectors are free to do what they want and buy what they want; if some feel like these are simply nothing more than repaints of previously released figures and they don't want them, then that's their right as collectors, other companies do this, reissue figures in different paint schemes and again, some collectors buy them, others pass.

As the saying goes, vote with your wallet; speaking as a First Legion dealer and not as a collector, my customers seem to like these figures based on preorders.

A lot.

Collectors are always free to do what they want.

When has that ever been an issue.

However, the more information they have when making a purchasing decision, the better.

The issue is some people seem to be upset that they view these as older figures with new paint jobs.

If you don't like them, then don't buy them.

I presume that if they don’t like them, they won’t. I don’t think collectors need anyone to tell them what they should or shouldn’t do.

Brad:

Thank you for the insight and info.

Sheesh, a tough crowd here. Good job no one here has to run a business on the opposite side of the world during Covid!
