I just got the M3 Lee, And to tell you the truth, I am dissapointed. You can not put the guy at the hatch, At his position. And to my horror, The paint is flaking off ( now I have to buy the paint, And a Dull coat spray. To protect it), I mean its a lot more expensive than The King and Country Miniatures, So shouldn"t the quality be more refined?? And one of the doors just fell off. I mean I am still going to keep it because its an M3 Lee. But I might just stay away from the tanks. I love the figures. But, it just puts a lot of doubt. In me buying more figarti.
K&C here I am Again??

The figarti guys will probably take care of it. They are fragile aren't they? Things do happen but I think you will find them responsive to your needs. It is a beautiful tank.

If the paint is flaking off, I would return it. I'm sure Figarti will stand behind their products and if you got it from a dealer they most likely will make it right too. A friend of mine used a tacky puddy to keep the guy in the side hatch on the Monty. It works great and is removable. I hate to hear of this with a Figarti. Good luck

I now have 1/2 dozen Figarti vehicles and boats and the detail of their items is really quite remarkable. However you must be prepaired to do routine maintance. Everything is extremely fragile, things often do not go together are they are designed to. Most recently I purchased one of their LRDG Chevy trucks, I did one minor repair to a hand brake that had snapped off, then discovered the machine gun would not fit into the bracket in the truck bed.
It could have been designed to just slip into the mount instead the mount is U shaped and would have to be pried open then squeezed shut (you can just imagine this snapping off if attempted)

I had similar problems with my River Patrol Boat, and have read numerious posts of repairs being made to the rail gun and E-boat. Again the detail is great, but who wants to drop a lot of cash on something you have to repair?

It certainly does affect my decisions when I am thinking about purchasing an item.

I do applaud Figarti's desire to tackle difficult projects, and features like real rubber tires are wonderful. Their packaging is also excellent, and I must say I have 3 of their tents which are a must buy! All received flawless!

I think they have to pay just a bit more attention to the detail pieces and how they are attached.

My grades:

Innovation of Products Offered - A
Packaging - B+
Detail of Products - A+
Fragile Factor - D
Odds of Item Arriving Undamaged - C

Perhaps I am spoiled as 98% of items I receive from my other manufacter of
choice arrive in perfect condition.:)

Thanks for all the reply, I have to agree with most if not all of your comments, especially you NJJA. I am going to try to match up the paint. re glue the hatch door. AND
DUll coat the tank, to keep the paint from chipping/ flanking away (Figarti should have sprayed a coat of protection/ sealant). I used to play warhammer miniatures, and always the last thing to do after painting. is seal it. still looking forward to the red bull, just staying away from the tanks.

Hey Spartan, you could be worse off, I live in a remote country where the chances of returning problem models are..........remote :D

I have several Figarti and Honour Bound model tanks etc, both products do need some maintenance work from time to time, but given their extra attention to detail they are worth it imo. In fact I tend to give both of those companies a bit of slack as they are playing in the big 1/30 scale league against K & C. I do give K & C a bit of flak from time to time but they are big enough to take it :D

As in 2 other threads I noted problems I had with Figarti pieces. The worst was with the Grant - 3 of 4 fenders came loose (reglued) 2 armour plates came loose (reglued) and the tanker leaning out the hatch (held in place with museum putty). This model has photo etched parts and is the most fragile of the ones I have.

The Tiger with the interior views was checked by Treefrog before shipping but arrived with the gunner broken off the gunners seat assembly and the seat assembly and one piece of equipment broken off of the interior side wall of the turret. By broken off I mean the glue did not hold. All were reglued.

The Honey MG will not stay in the turret mount (museum putty) and the eyelet at the bow that holds the towing cable was broken (reglued).

The AK Panzer IV with the red bicycle is of stronger construction and arrived in perfect condiition.

I still like Figarti and have ordered Horns of the Red Bull.

Terry

Just a quick note, I ended up returningThe M-3 Lee (Treefrog was great through it all, They sent me a replacement, And I was happy in receiving it. But when I opened It, Tracks was Broken in 3 places), So I had to make the decision to return it :(. I would have loved to have an m3 Lee. But it being At a cost of nearly 300 dollars. I expected the manufacturing. TO BE WHOLE LOT BETTER.
So I just took a store credit, And took the LCA. And waiting for the Cromwell.
And unless Figarti Does better, in Manufacturing their Products. I will Be staying away.

I still have my K/C Lee. It was my first K/C piece. I would never sell it, unless K/C or CS would ever update to a newer version. Because of the fragility of the new Figarti stuff, I can understand your reluctance to support them...Michael

I have an extra Grant, that has been slightly repaired, that I'm going to offer on ebay next week, starting at $50.
