Has there been any word if there will be something made for the M5 to pull? I have a feeling there won't be, unfortunately. I'm tempted to get it anyway. But, if there were a howitzer for it to pull, I would definitely get it. Only K&C can take such a ugly vehicle and make it look so good in miniature.

While you wait, you could use it with the FoV 105mm howitzer. No, it's not the intended gun to paired with this tractor, but it is in the right weight range for an M5 to handle.

Another possibility - a German 88! THere is a photo that is reproduced in a couple books of a US M4 tractor pulling an 88 FLAK. Probably pulling it to an enemy material collection point, BUT there were instances of US troops using the large amount of captured Jerry artillery against the former owners, especially when the supply crunch hit in the late fall of 1944 (due to the extended supply lines and limited off-load capability in Normandy). I'm certainly not an expert, but one might think that an M5 could handle several sizes of German guns.

You mean, while I wait and see? You haven't heard anything, right?

There hasn't been much talk about this vehicle. Doesn't anybody like it? I'm pretty impressed with it.

I really like it sorta, While really like the model:) I do not like the choice of that particular vehicle:mad:, personally i would have like more if Andy did a tank instead of a tractor but i will still be buying this one, though i do not think it will be a big seller.

I will not likely purchase this vehicle as it does not generate much interest for me......I would be much more interested in a sherman by K/C similar in style to honour bound"s most recent efforts.......

I haven't committed for sure to buying it (seems a bit pricey), but my father and I am intrigued by the tractor precisely because it's not just another old tank. How many tanks can one have after all? I would rather see more such support vehicles, which outnumbered tanks and were just as important to the war effort. They help add variety and realism to one's collection.

As for what to tow, the 105mm by FOV seems like the best option. Here's a link to a museum in the Ardennes with just such a display set up: http://www.warmuseums.nl/gal/057gal.htm. How accurate this combination is, I don't know, but my feeling is if a museum is prepared to set it up pulling the 105, I think my dad (who is an artillery buff) can get away with this combination in his basement. ;)

I like when K&C does less common vehicles, whether combat or support. I would love if every vehicle and aircraft that saw service in WWII eventually became available (like say, by the time I am ready to retire in 30 years or so).

just got a M115 8 Inch Howitzer and a M59 Long Tom 155mm cannon frm 21st century 1:32 scale range, they look great imo and was used in the K&C promo shot for the tractor:cool: they are quite cheap as well:D

Any ideas what BBA18 might be in the future. Could there be a M1 155mm Howitzer planned for release soon to match up with the M5?

Nah probably not.

The gun Carlos showed is the only CORRECT one for the M5 (actually that one plus the 4.5" gun which was a British barrel on that same carriage/breech). The other options look good but aren't really what an M5 was built to pull. I suggested the 105 because it's the closest available gun.

The only problem with a 155mm howitzer from K&C is that IF Andy were to make one, then he would make a crew for it. Then I would want to display the gun in firing position instead of being pulled by the M5 tractor!!!!

The more I think about it, the more I agree with Carlos's clever observation that BBA18 is a 155mm howitzer set. We will find out soon.

You could put the tractor next to the gun

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a winter M24 Chaffee or another cracker box ambulance. Another Sherman seems like overkill, but I agree that if another Sherman is in the works, it should be the welded M4A1 version with some hedge cutters and "Ol Blood & Guts" written along its side, and less baggage on the tank. The prior two Sherman releases have so much baggage, that you would think they were the "Beverly Hillbillies', getting ready to move in.
