I saw the classic FFL film again...... Gene Hackman performance remains haunting... This might be the inspiration for Thomas Gunn rumours of FFL artillery

A very entertaining movie. Hackman was great in it. I found the best sequence in the movie to be the opening scenes at the railway station when the Legion returns from the Front. The weariness and exhaustion are evident but so is the professionalism as they form up to march off. Great scene. -- Al

This is one of my favorite movies. I saw in the theatre when it 1st came out. The final battle is one of the best and my favorite scene of the movie, but the train station scene is very moving.

As a fanatic for all Legion since young.....I am very happy for the series......loved to watch all the movies that would come to the silver screen or the TV related to the Legion.....
Yeap, I kind of co parented the idea with the development team....sent them both the March or Die as the Legionnaire movies ( You Tube versions).....discussed many aspects related to uniform and armament plus a tonne of reference material....Very, very happy that all those chats over the internet lead to such a great and promising series.....the last leg would be the artillery arm.......

Hi Martyn,

Try getting hold of Beau Geste ( recent remake - not the Garry Copper one! - or the one also fantastic with Telle Savallas as the nasty Sergeant )....this is a recent one from 2005 by the BBC starring Benedict Taylor, Jonathon Morris and Anthony Calf.
Cheers
