The work you put into these figures is amazing...kind of liked the 'drape' effect before the "flounce", however I am sure Marie will be happier with your newest modification.
That's a fantastic sculpting job, Vic! The hair, the dress, the cape, all executed so well, with your eye for the details of the drape of the cloth and other shapes. This will be a really striking piece when you've finished!
Thanks for your kind comments. I do have my epileptic moments... Just finished sculpting most of the details up front. Changed the arms by extending them a few mm and added a rose. figure undercoated with matt white and I've started to paint the dress already.

Having said that the original figure without the head was also historically accurate ^&grin
I enjoy creating these historical personalities now and then. The fun sometimes comes from converting another figure into something else. The joy of rescuing an abandoned figure is immeasurable.
I started out all thumbs, too. Skill sets can always be built up. Give it a go. DIY is really enjoyable.
I am now co-opted for the ritual pre Xmas cleaning routine. So while dusting the figs, I cam across Marie Antoinette and realised that I hadn"t updated this piece. While taking the pix, I decided that maybe I could redo some of the details, like sculpting the ermine fur. So another WIP...
