Was wondering if anyone else has picked up September's MG releases?

I think they're really good pieces! Good to see some casual poses after last years batch of action but also good to see some action ones for October!

Anyone got an Arnhem or Market Garden diorama that they have tried to base on actual events and make as historically accurate as possible?

I'm trying to include a bit of everything in mine; action at the bridge, fighting around Arnhem town, Oosterbeek action and the Death of Kussin, the Oosterbeek Perimeter, the LZ/DZs and of course the Poles on the Southern bank!

Who makes a good house model for N Oosterbeek setting?

Cheers, Scott

Brilliant figures, brilliant buildings, brilliant dio
guy:smile2:

I picked up the figure all the way on the right in Robin's 2nd photo and was very impressed with it.

I recently 'took the plunge' into the MG line, but started with a few of the older guys first. My dio is a work in progress (waiting for some more bits and pieces to arrive and will then finish it off)-a few images:

Considering the fact that Market Garden in the area of Arnhem took place at several locations it is obviously necesary if one wants historic correctness to build several dioramas, one for each action. Also considering the fact that most collectors have the well known space problem then
we have to make concessions.....I myself have (in the box) a growing collection of MG for which i still have to begin a definitive diorama. My display space is also limited so i think i am going to go for the "Lump it all together"option...Not historically accurate, but it should make one hell of a diorama!!!.

You're deliberately taunting me again Robin with that amazing jeep display.......{sm4}

Mike 97,
Sharp looking display and scenes. I like how you used the new Dio Building along with the recent German casualty figures.
Also like how you have a backdrop visible behind the door opening of the building !

Robin, No shortage of Brit Para Jeeps in your display Mate ! Really nice ! Love the Tram car used too.

Thanks much Wayne !

The new KC building is an awesome & flexible piece and the casualties really add to the dio.
Cheers!

Well Andybsaid that there would be at least one more vehicle a few years ago. Wonder what it could be?

Hoping for an ambulance jeep and 17lb gun Tractor but I wonder what we shall see next year?

Hope that 17lb gun will be released! It's a must have!

Maybe some more captured paras? Marching or sitting at the road side? Giving the defiant 'V' towards the German camera man?

Lathbury, Baskeyfield, Hicks and Hackett are must haves!

Hello Scott,

I am curios, and I wish to know.... Do you only collect " Market Garden"? Do you have many displays-dioramas about MG or a giant one, as you keep on asking items through the years about this same range?

No mate I have lots of DDay pieces - 5 Landing craft and all the US Ranger beach figures for a DDay diorama i made with real sand.

Lots of Germans like LOTS! Have two of the WSS57 88mm Guns, one with crew one without.

A small contingent of older US paras with Figarti tent and another jimmy truck.

Three Battle of the bulge dios; one with US soldiers with the 105mm, half track, old jimmy truck and plenty of foot soldiers in Bastogne.

And one with Germans and lots of captured Americans to represent a captured town in Belgium during the battle of the bulge.

Last one is a custom made piece from Tony Neville at K&C UK with areas for 3 JG miniatures 6x6 inch bases and represents a US outpost holding pack recon attacks from Germans!

Small RAF contingent with RAF ambulance, 'crashed' K&C spitfire, K&C hurricane and corgi mosquito. With about 9 figures to go with!

The orginal Arnhem 44 series in a cabinet.

Some crusaders, gloss trophy Zulus, some gloss Little Legion Zulus. Couple of club figures.

Nearly all of the Iraq/Afghanistan sets.

The first of the K&C UK Crimea sets.

1 of the K&C Vietnam sets.

A huge Waterloo diorama with King and Country, Britains, W britains, Trophy Miniatures, Frontline Figures and Del Prado figures included, with lots of JG miniatures scenery.

A big diorama of XXX Corps moving up past Son going iver a bailey/pontoon bridge which has all of the british dday releases in it minus commandos.

A dio of a German field hospital with all of the medical releases in it.

And of course a huge Arnhem/Oosterbeek diorama!

Shelves full of extra Napoleonic pieces.

Extra pieces like two jettys, jetty bridge, a few houses/buildings, britains concord bridge piece, about 250 other figures - mixture of K&C, Britains and even 4 conte. Including lots of the US dday 3rd infantry releases and the Sherman 105, DUCKW and extra British sherman and firefly. Got lots to be honest!

I used to have lots more but sold over £1,500 worth to get into reenactment.

Cheers.

Scott

P.s. also got lots of 1/6th stuff but looking to sell it all.
