Hi again,

We've had a few orders for Beau Geste sets painted in matte finish. We have been taking orders for these for a while, but this time I had the chance to take pictures and I thought you'd like to see them :)

Set 174 - Bikaner Camel Riders, Delhi Durbar, 1903

Set 185A - Carabinieri's Guards, Camel Corps, Palestine, 1917-18, WWI

Set 262 - Camel Field Ambulance, Australian Light Horse Brigade, WWI

Any BG set or figure can be ordered this way. Any ideas?

Ana:)

That is gorgeous work. The detail is outstanding. Really nice. -- Al

WOW,

the finely deatiled matt painting really brings the figures into another realm..... I'd love to see images of some Napoleonics too.

I'm sure that collectors will relish buying them like this, but keep on with the glossy toy finish too.

Really exceptional!:cool::cool::cool: I have always thought your glossy painting was about as good as glossy painting could be, and your matt painting is even better.

While these are very very beautiful I still think glossy is what you do best.

Always nice to see something different however and thank you for sharing them with us.

Thank you all, guys. These are special orders since Beau Geste is all about glossy and will remain like that. But I thought it was nice to show them in a different option.

We will be releasing a new Beau Geste matte line soon, probably at the beginning of 2011. It will be 1:30, strictly matt.

Take care,

Ana

Ana,

I know that I asked you about this before but any chance of a Spanish Civil War set or two. Some of the uniforms were colorful, especially some of the International Brigades and some of the militias on the Republican side, which included both sexes. The Spanish Foreign Legion also had some colorful uniforms, particularly the Regulares, the Spanish Moroccan native troops.

There is a good book out there (which I have) called Uniformes Militares de la Guerra Civil Espanola by Jose Maria Bueno, issued by Almena in 1997 (actually a re-issue of an early 70s book). It's got some great plates. I ordered mine from the Casa del Libro in Spain but I could lend you my copy, if that will help :)

Brad,

We've thought about the Spanish Civil War many times, and we still think about it. So far we haven't gone beyond WWI and we are trying to keep the line that way. But we haven't discarded the possibility. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

Ana

I thought you'd say that :). However, an idea might be some sets of the Spanish Foreign Legion fighting in the Rif wars. These battles were legendary and led to many Spanish deaths, even culminating en la Semana Tragica.

Hi Ana,
it's always exciting when a great manufacturer announces the release of a new line. Since you guys run Honour Bound as well, I think I can safely assume that it won't be a WWII line, right?
Looking forward to the announcement.

Hi Ana,
are you and the team ready to announce the new line soon? :)
We are almost at the beginning of 2011 and I am so curious.
Konrad

Konrad,

I think we will be ready to launch the line by the first weeks of february. It is summer here, and EVERYONE is on holiday. So things get very slow at this time of the year. Very hot summer by the way :)

I'll keep you posted. Happy 2011 to everybody :):):)

Your matte figures are outstanding. Can't wait to see your new line. All the best and Happy New Year.By the way up here it was 10 degrees this morning,so if you need any ice we have plenty.:)

Sounds good, Ana,
both, the announcement in February and the temperature :D
One time I will have to find out how that feels, celebrating Christmas and New Year in summer. A sister of mine lives in Australia now, so that would be a good chance for the test :)

I am glad you asked first, Dave, :D
Didn't want to sound too anxious myself ;)
For some reason I am very, very curious what line they come up with?
The matte Durbar figures that Ana showed us looked spectacular. Maybe that's why I can't wait to find out.

Most welcome Konrad, and I think my motivation here is similar to yours from the sounds of things.....:)

Must admit I would love to see a range based on the company's namesake.
