I just received an email, as did probably everyone from the Collectors Club, that the Komet is now available so it should be showing up at the dealers very shortly.

I have seen this in the shop. I set up the display with the LW series figures, one of whom is a female! The box is huge and it should eliminate breakage.

I got mine on Friday. I think it is incredible. I can only hope K&C does more Luftwaffe planes. I was surprised that the Komet was so large. I always thought of it as a small plane. I would recommend getting one now as I am sure they will disappear quickly.

Treefrog has 21 in stock now - I think everyone is safe from a rush on the plane.

I was just saying that SL editions in the past with only 750 total have been hard to find. They may be available now but look at the Rommel 'Greif'. I think this is a nice set and will sell out.

As nice as the new Luftwaffe stuff is, and as well it lends itself to an airfield diorama, wouldn't it be great if somebody would produce modular airfield surfaces (you know square bits of runway and taxiway that can be put together to make as big or small a diorama as you want)?

Sounds like a job for ... dout - dout - da !!!

BUILD-A-RAMA !

:D :D :D

I made a 30" x 13" base this past weekend. I used foam and made it into square concrete sections. I am currently making a wall for the back to make it look like a hanger. I will have the Komet as the centerpiece and place the Luftwaffe figure around it. Once I am further along I will post pictures to my photo album.

I wanna do something like that with my Komet which should arrive tomorrow. How did you go buy making the base could you go in more detail?

I just added some pictures to my album. If you look under Luftwaffe you can see the base plus one of the back walls I am making. I want to eventually make a hanger or part of a hanger.

The base is pink foam I cut to fit the shelf in my display case 30"x13". I then made 3"x3" squares, made lines in the foam, and painted it all black. I then mixed some paints and kept weathering until I got the current look. The back wall can be removed as it is held by just two nails. I am currently working on a back wall that will represent part of a hanger. The current back wall is for my LAH collection but thought of using it for some quick photos with the Komet.

Alas, there are only 9 in stock. They have been going quickly...I don't expect to have them around for long.

Wow - Great glad to hear !

With this economy dealers need some good sales !

I will wait six months from now and pick it up on Ebay for $150 from the guy who bought five

Any wise eBay seller, now knows those days are over. I no longer purchase multibles myself and its time to be very selective on what to purchase.

The Me-163 was my first 2009 purchase. And I have my eyes on many other item, but won't pull the trigger. Only will I purchase, if something is in danger of selling out as many other collectors are now doing.

I don't know about banking on any model appreciating in value quickly, but I have one already pre-ordered.

Should ship to me on the 20th (I hope).

I doubt these will last long though, anything K&C German WW2 has a cool factor, and this particular model is above the average coolness.

So if I was going to gamble on what will be worth more $$$ 2 years from now it would be the Komet over the Allied Wrecker :)

I'm pretty sure those days are long gone!

Has the Komet sold out? It is the only recent KC limited edition that I don't see anymore at the local dealers.

A few dealers still have them if you look around!
