I collect both. I love the heft and feel of metal but like the cost of plastic and I really enjoy painting my figures. I would really like to try some metal kits some time.

In my childhood playing with plastic figures made in Spain: Jecsan, Comansi, Reamsa, currently only matte metal figures ,are more realistic.

Used to collect plastics when I was like 9 or 10. But from what I remember painting them was just horrible. Specially if you had a rather large collection. I didn't went out to buy a box of soldiers. I'd go out and buy the same box 5 times to get some quantity.

Even still, I couldn't paint them like the metals are painted. Simply too nice, weathering and all that.

No metals are simply of an outstanding quality that I could never achieve with plastics.

I collect both...build kits & figures & as of late been buying the old Britians Deetail figures & vehicles from the 70's to repaint/redo...Also repaint the FOV figures that come with the vehicles...I geuss to each his own...But as for me , just buying everything really limits you...Here are a couple of pics i will share...

I would have to say that I "collect" metal, but I do have both. The plastic sets come and go as my interest changes (Civil War, WWII, Alamo, etc). With that said I have been edging closer and closer to trying my hand at plastics to fill in major gaps in sets not made by K&C or othermetal vendors. -- LARRY
