MFCA Treefrog Crew & John Jenkins Battle of Saratoga Display! (1 Viewer)

Wow! Such a rich variety in uniforms and poses. John is really at the top of his game. I need to bone up on Saratoga. Have a feeling there will soon be a run on the Osprey book.

John brought a bunch of books himself to study and learn as much as he could.
This is why you always see John's work so accurate. I jumped quickly and found one Osprey and another book dedicated to Saratoga.

SO YES, don't wait!!

Evening Folks,
In and open response to a PM on what books I have on the Battle of Saratoga I have:

SARATOGA A Military History of the Decisive Campaign of the American Revolution;
John F. Luzader; ISBN:978-1-932714-85-2

SARATOGA Turning Point of America's Revolutionary War;
Richard M. Ketchum; ISBN: 0-8050-6123-1

WITH MUSKET & TOMAHAWK Volume 1 The Saratoga Campaign and teh Wilderness War of 1777
Michael O. Logusz; ISBN: 978-1-935149-00-2

There are a good many books that include the Battle of Saratoga but the above are dedicated to that battle in depth.

Have fun.

....I've read the Luzader & Ketchum books...and also a book released about 18mths ago, "1777 - Tipping Point At Saratoga" by Dean Snow....there is an absolutely spot-on review about this book on the JAR website (Journal of the American Revolution)...

...I get the feeling that this new Saratoga series will be extremely popular....I hope John makes enough to go round !

If without any paint this Stug is already amazing, I wonder what it will look like once finished under the high standards of J. Jenkins! :wink2:

Thanks for posting the additional pic's of the Stug Jules, when they get released all painted up, I reckon they will be the best detailed Stug ever released in 1/30 scale. If they are well priced like the Jag's then I'm sure they will also be affordable which is a big plus for me.

I be in line early for this Stug!!!!!! Just like the Jagd this looks like another fantastic tank from John!!!!! I certainly have cut back on armor these days for other ranges but JJD armor are not one I'll pass up on!!! Thanks John and all to those at JJD.

You do realise that at this stage JJD are doing at least two variations of the Stug III and as he normal does a Summer and Winter as well we are looking at minimum of 4

Great looking StugIII. The images show the early sideskirts. Been trying to figure out when the later style (with the triangles) began production. Or if they were both produced at the same time. Anybody out there kniw the details?

Would be great to get some LW crews to represent the unusual Fallschirm-Surmgeschutz-Brigade 11 in Normandy.

I had the pleasure and privilege to host John for one week on his visit to New York and the MFCA show.
We spent hours talking history, art and of course toy soldiers. John and I visited a local "tank" museum and
two Aviation museums on Long Island (the cradle of aviation). John took photos and copious notes for new
ideas on his products. We also spent time at the NY Historical Society where John discussed future ideas
for the AWI time frame.

All I can say is that I surmise that there will be amazing new releases from ancient through WWII, on land, sea and air!

Glad you 'boys' had a great week! Fabulous to meet & chat in person with you!!

Julie

Will the StuG have gun tube options for either the 75mm or 105mm versions?

This Stug III Looks Great.:salute::...I am glad that the Side Skirts are removeable and the other detachable details like spare wheels are a very nice touch...:salute::....Well done John Jenkins :salute::
