Guys,
I promised you some pictures by tonight, so here they are.
The scene: Dec 1944 low clouds, thick fog and light snowfall. The MG-team have set up their MG-34 alongside a road in the Ardennes;Their back is covered by a metal telephone pole and they blend in with nature.
The gunner is wearing the 1944 Panzer Grenadier camouflage jacket and he has covered his helmet with a white piece of cloth. The officer is wearing the 1944-45 SS Grenadier camouflage trousers - autumn colours( also note the same camo patern on the inside of his jacket). In 1944 the German army began to make extensive use of camo clothing.Much of this was improvised on divisional level and made use of any available material.
Also note the empty feed strip on the right side of the MG, the spend cartridges on the ground between the loader and the gunner. The officer has a map under his arms. Enjoy
