This weekend Michtoy had their first November Show instead of being held In January as the previous years. The show seemed a little smaller on dealers and attendance Saturday. Maybe Sunday will be more busy. I met Ken and Erica, although they did not set-up. I also visited with Wendy who is a painter for Britain's and others. Instead of taking pictures of the usual dealers and figures,I tried to concentrate on the model builders and painters.

Tables of dealers and model displays.

This is a figure Dave Younquist just completed painting. Dave is a really nice fellow and very helpful. I think this is a large 120mm or more Andrea kit but not sure. He said it is very heavy.

This photo is cropped to get rid of someone in the background.

These figures were made from scratch. The man from Lansing MI. sculpted and posed these figures and made the parts and horses.

Rommerl's Rod. This kit was from years ago but must have been reissued.

Another type of sherman. John

Thank you for the report. Slightly out of my range of collecting but fascinating nevertheless.

I am getting more and more irritated by the difference in scale between the modeling and the Ready-To-Display market segments.

Customized 1/6 scale figures and vehicles.

They really put work into these vehicles with plenty of detail.

This is a German halftrack. GI JOE size. J

Yes, I wish they would all be one scale. It would make it easier to obtain extra parts or repairing damaged vehicles. I like 54mm, then it is 30mm and larger in both vehicles and figures. I have different shelves for the 35-54-60-80-120, the choices are irritating. J

The next Michigan Show will be April 2-3, 2011. That is around the Indy show. I guess there seems to be a show somewhere every week or two.

John!! Thanks for sharing- absolutely love the Guilford Courthouse and the modern figures- especially that hummer- how cool is that!!

Thanks for the look at this show, John!

I'm with Chris, I like the vignette of the battle of Guilford Courthouse. The 1/6 German halftrack is another example of some of the really excellent modeling work being done in that scale. I've seen a gentleman at Hackensack who's scratchbuilt US armor in that scale.

And there's a kid from Central PA who works in that scale, too, starting with kits--yes, there are actually some kits out there--and then he casts and machines more detailed parts. I think he's building a Panther now, he's previously built the US Army's super-heavy tank (circa 1946, I think it was) and an M3 Lee.

Thanks again for the pics!

Prost!
Brad
