Hello,
Anyone near the Eastern Pennsylvania area might want to check out the World War II Weekend at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum (Right next to the airport) in Reading, PA. I try to make it every year, it is a pretty decent event with tons of reenactors and a militaria flea market.

Here is a link to the event website:http://www.maam.org/maamwwii.html

The dates are June 2-4, 2006. Some of the special guest this year include Paul Tibbets and R. Lee Ermey, and they also do B17 rides. Just thought I'd pass that info along!

Cody,

The photos on the website are fantastic. I wish I could make it and take a B17 ride.

Reading is not that far from the NY area, probably 2.5 hours or so, off of I-78.

Just to reaffirm, it is a great show. Often I try to do the Lancaster, PA. version of that event, and have always gotten some great photos as well as the tours of the various bombers ( droooooo....ooo..l.l ) Michael :D

How crowded does the show usually get? Also, I would like to get an autograph from Tibbit. Do you they have a schedule or specific time when they are available? Didn't see any specifics about this on their website.

Well, I wouldn't say that the crowd is unbearable but the parking can be a pain. Fortunatly they do have a shuttle from the parking areas to the front gate. They usually have a schedule of who is gonna be where and when but most of the special guests are in the main hangar. I met some of the Tuskeegee Airmen thier last year. Unfortunatly (Since it starts today) I will be missing out as I am in the United Arab Emirates at the moment. If anyone goes be sure to let me know how it was this year.

Cody-
Thanks for the tip. I went out for a couple of hours today. Nice selection of WWII planes - B 17, 24, 25 and others. Most were landing and taking off this morning. Quite a sight. The reenactors looked great too. Some of the women really had the 40's look down pat. The highlight was meeting Paul Tibbets pilot of the Enola ***. He looks quite frail, so this may be a rare opportunity going forward. He and the navigator of the EG signed a book for me.

Louis-
There were some nice warbirds on display by someone - TMC or TWC Collectibles. The advertisements had www.warplanes.com but not sure if that was the same company. I didn't have much of a chance to browse and couldn't find a lot more info so if anyone else had better luck would like to find out their website and how to order from them.
