Mike Tarantino's Toy Soldier Collection (3 Viewers)

The buildings compliment these troops beautifully. :salute:::salute::, Robin.

Thanks Robin, I thought so too. We visited the French fort at Louisburg in Nova Scotia in 1978 and the buildings inside the fort were similar, if I recall correctly. Mike

This is my final John Jenkins Designs French & Indian War display. It has sets from The Raid on Saint Francis and The Battle of the Plains of Abraham in addition to two building backdrops from Hudson & Allen. From left to right, the Pennsylvania Provincial Regiment, the 60th (Royal American) Regiment of Foot, the New Jersey Provincial Regiment, the Connecticut Provincial Regiment, the South Carolina Provincial Regiment, and the 35th Regiment of Foot Grenadiers.
I really like this regimental series by John, even though I only collect the 60th Royal Americans. The 60th has been available a lot longer than the others yet no officer figures have ever been done, likewise with grenadier figures or Royal and regimental standards. I would love to see all of those done to be able to display the regiment accurately. -- Al

It is a neat series, isn't it? I also thought it was odd that there wasn't an officer figure offered for the 60th Royal Americans especially in light of the fact that all the provincial regiments offered a choice of two officers. I would also like to see royal and regimental standards for the 60th and 35th regiments. Mike

With the recently acquired bookcase, I now have an appropriate place to display my Hiriart camel and elephant sets. Prior to this, 12 of the 13 sets displayed were still tied into their boxes. I will have acrylic doors made for all my open bookcase shelves to keep the dust at a minimum and also, in case of an earthquake, to contain the baseless camels to one shelf since I can't use tacky wax to secure them.

Fantastic collection of camels and the elephants are gorgeous. Beautiful case, as well. -- Al

Yesterday, I received from Treefrog the back ordered JG Miniatures JGTM06 Beach Mat for Landing Craft which I have now incorporated into my King & Country D-Day diorama. It is 30 X 13 inches in size and costs $95. I am also going to have to order the JG Miniatures sand mat so I can fill in the area on the book shelf that the beach mat doesn't cover.

Here are ten of the mahogany WWII warbirds that I wasn't previously able to display which I have now displayed on top of the new bookcases and curio in my second toy soldier room. Also, displayed are three WWI John Jenkins "warbirds."

Wonderful aircraft, Mike. The Wildcat and Dauntless are 2 of my all-time favorites, and I'm glad to see you have John's SE-5, which I consider to be one of his finest efforts. I rank the SE-5 just behind the incredible DH-2 in John's stable of aircraft. You have a gorgeous collection. -- Al

Here are some previously not displayed John Jenkins Spanish Civil War and War of 1812 U.S. Marines.

I finally was able to pick up at auction the last 3-piece East of India Greek Phalanx set that I needed to complete a 24-figure phalanx. The Vectis Auction lot also included this Persian Infantry set.

Wonderful sets! Try and get the musicians and swordsmen.

I recently received the John Jenkins Gallipoli terrain base from Treefrog and was able to set up the Gallipoli diorama for the first time.

Great looking phalanx and I notice that every shield face is different, a very nice detail. -- Al

I passed on these the first time at OTSN and always kicked myself. Then the maker passed and have only run into a few sets since. Great pick up Mike.

I also passed on them at the OTSN auction when they first came out and soon regretted it. It has subsequently taken me years to acquire them on eBay and at various auctions. Mike
