Q. By what four names was the Curtiss P-40 known?

Warhawk was the name the USAAC gave to all P-40 models. Curtiss called the original P-40 the Hawk 81 and the later models the Hawk 87. The British and Commonwealth air forces gave the name Tomahawk to the P-40B and P-40C and the name Kittyhawk to the P-40E and all later versions, which had improved engines and armament. Unofficially the RAF called the P-40L the Gipsy Rose Lee.
