The stars are raised almost a 16th of an inch on the flag so, a light touch is all that is really needed to bring them up.

I enjoyed painting this guy. Really like the Zouaves so this will be an excellent piece to go with the new Conte figures.

Just discovered this thread KV and agree with the others that you've done a really nice job on this one. And as you've pointed out, you can always layer more colors on to enhance the effect you are looking for, right?

Really impressed with the job you did on all those little stars. Even if they are raised up a bit it still makes my eyes hurt just thinking about painting them.
