Minutemen Toy Soldiers Chicago Show pictures.......................... (2 Viewers)

George, I agree with Mike, your tables were a wonder to behold, plenty of beauties, congratulations! What a shame not to be there!!
Carlo

Thank you very much Carlo, I appreciate it. Stefano from Italy comes every year, maybe next year you can join him, would love to have you come..............

Good stuff mate great pictures cheers for posting.

Hey how long to set all that up ??

Wayne,
We started on Tuesday about 4:00pm and went until about 11:00pm, then I finished it Wednesday morning in about two hours, so nine hours in total......................{eek3}

Hey George,

Great words and man, it was great to meet you. I know how heavy your heart was as, you came into the Treefrog room only minutes after I had arrived and I was still finding my feet. Didn't know what to say to you but hopefully that got better.

Avoided the bar as I spent some time with an old friend on Friday and some new ones on Sunday. Saturday I was just so ill with a migrane I took to my bed at 7pm having done a full day on mega strong pain killers.

Next year I WILL make the bar and get to know you better. And, one last thing. The comment you make about Shannon and her comment to you speaks volumes for a lovely lady. I am taking that comment on board for next year as this year, yeah, I was the new guy and (at times) felt out of my depth a little. Her legacy will live on in so many people.

Great meeting you man!

Malcolm. :salute::

Malcolm,
Great post and it was a pleasure to meet you as well, I wish you all the best with you venture, you've put your company in very good hands, TFT will do right by you as they've done for many other manufacturers.

The traveling just wears you out, the older I get, the tougher it gets, but seeing all the collectors and dealers gives me a second wind and gets me through. Over the entire week, I did not run into one person in a bad mood, nothing but smiles and handshakes everywhere, which is how it should be.

If you come to a toy soldier show with a hair across your ***, maybe you're at the wrong place.....................:wink2:

Thanks for sharing your photos, George! And I'm glad to hear you had a great show, keeping that Cal-Ripken, Jr-like streak going.

Prost!
Brad

Thanks Brad, I appreciate it; and if I wasn't feeling lousy enough already, I had "Fast Eddie's Attic" next to me on Sunday and the fumes from the mold almost put me over the edge and into the hospital............................{eek3}

Last picture and it's my favorite; yours truly, Matt Pavone from First Legion and Mike Miller.............

And last but certainly not least; I cannot begin to thank my sidekick Larry Allen, who was a great, great help to me all week long, he kept me going Saturday and Sunday when I was all banged up, is a HUGE asset for me and frankly, I could not have done this show without him..............love ya Larry, you second Dad to me you..................^&grin

Gee, thanks George for the kind words, deserved or not. :)

Actually, we must have a well designed and oiled machine since the "system" seems to work pretty flawlessly (well most of the time .. :rolleyes2:). It was also great to see all the forum friends and the other collectors and dealers that visited the rooms and the Sunday show floor.

Saturday night was a bit worrisome with you looking as if you might be down and out for Sunday. However, I would have dragged you down the service elevator on one of the dollies, strapped you into a chair in the middle of the booth and let you quote prices and what carton to look for the boxes. I am not sure if I could have packed you into the van Sunday night so I might have rolled you over to the CROWN booth and slipped you under the table. I was confident that they wouldn't know you were there until late Monday....{sm3} .... when I would be long gone.

I really enjoyed seeing and talking to Andy (K&C); Ken (Britains); Matt (FL) and others. There are not to many hobbies where you get to meet and talk to the designers and manufactures.

I hope everyone had as good of a time as I did.

So ... CHICAGO 2015 is now in the books. Time to start thinking about Hackensack on Nov 1st.

As the song goes ... "THANKS for the memories!" --- LaRRy

I got out to the bar three nights as the above picture shows, had a ball, especially Friday night (and don't forget Julie; "I WANT TO TALK TO MATT!!!".................:wink2:...............one of the other nice side benefits of the show is getting to see all the dealers and Manufacturers that I only get to see once a year; Julie from Treefrog, Mike from Sierra, Paul from The Toy Soldier Shoppe, Tim Tyler, Boyd Moore, Rick Berry, Nick from TSSD, Steve from the UK (the three of us in the corner on Sunday keep the comedy going) Andy from K & C, Gerard from Frontline, Ken from Britains, plus the other east coast guys I see all the time, Matt, Nick, Ted, John from the Marxman, Gary Green and the Jones Brothers just to name a few.

George that video is cherished in my phone . . . and I am not sharing! It will be there to make me smile and laugh whenever I need it!

Looks like I'm hanging out with the wrong crowd!

I just did a spit take!

Thanks to all for the pics for those of us who can't be there in person. The show looked like a lot of fun with lots of great product on display. ^&cool

Thanks Brad, glad you like it; maybe we can talk you into coming one of these years.

Hope you are well...............

Hopefully one day! :) Had a great time at the Gettysburg show. Can't imagine how great Chicago was!

So Tempting George. I did google the location. It looks about 2 or 3 hours. Which isn't bad. Is the hotel easy to find? I had a lot of fun at the Gettysburg show and I am sure that is much smaller. stay tuned! :)

Brad,
The show is held in the fieldhouse of FDU on their campus; the show is probably five or six times bigger than Gettysburg, it's by far the biggest show on the East Coast.

If you decide to attend, my suggestion is getting a advance ticket as the line to pay is long and slow, while the prepay line is l like being at a movie theater, you hand over the ticket and in you go.......................
