Greetings. have just purchased my first King and Country WW2 models and I fear this may become habit-forming. Inevitably there is the "what if" feeling. "If only I had started collecting earlier I would not have missed..." One item I would love to have though is the large German 8-wheel armoured car with the canon and crew which was withdrawn not so long ago. Is there any chance somebody out there knows a dealer who may still have one in stock?
Many thanks

Welcome,
Your talkin big bucks no matter where you get it, K&C might produce one again, as a newbe I'd say get the New Model Army version now and wait for K&C version later down the road. the NMA version is vary nice and the correct scale I have 3 NMA's as well as the K&C. The NMA is cheap enough that if you want to convert or otherwise alter it it's managable. I've included a pic of an NMA I recently modified.
Hope this is helpful
Ray

Hi Curassier,

Welcome to the forum. I'd back up what Ray has said. I'm not aware of any dealers that still have the WS068 Puma in stock, but there are still a good few NMA 232s in the three different paint schemes, around amongst various dealers, including here at Treefrogs.

If it's really the K&C model you want, then I would suggest keeping an eye on ebay. I've seen two or three there over the last couple of months, and although they're not cheap, they haven't reached the prices of some of the more sought after retired sets / pieces. Yet.

You can buy a NMA for $40 from Treefrogs or a King & Country for $400 on ebay. :)

Alex, Alex...

You can buy 10 NMA from Treefrog for $400 or one K&C for $400 on eBay....

thought I'd better straighten that out....

;)

There is a guy who posted on the Buying section from the TF. His from Australia wants to sell a half track car from panzer Meyer and the 8 wheel PUMA from the fall of Berlin. I have one too...

Cheers:0 and welcome aboard.

For you so called experts who think you know the prices, the Puma averages about $125 on ebay so you can probably get your Puma and your NMA from Treefrog.

Can anyone who has this set tell me what the inscription on the cufftitle of the crewmember reads? I asked a guy on ebay this question and he told it read Adolf Hitler like many of K&C's SS cufftitles. But this doesn't make sense because LAH division was nowhere near Berlin at the end of the war. From the catalogue I can see K&C got the vehicle markings correct (the sunwheel on the front means 11th SS Nordland division, which was the premier division in the Berlin battles) - but what about the cufftitle?

CS I have this set, but it is almost impossible to read. It seems to be Adolf Hitler but I’m not sure about that.

CHEERS:)

Oh forgot, one quick question - the barrel of the main gun on my Staghound is pretty much at the lowest elevation - it actually points a little downwards. What's it made from? Should I risk bending it or will this split the paint?
Not sure how strong these things are.

Polystone most likely. And you won't be able to bend it straight even if you try. Don't worry, you'll get used to the limitations of the stuff.

No dont bend it or you will end up with a very short barrel. Somtimes unfortunatly the barrels are slightly bent.

On aside you been collecting long? Ever been to the London show? Oh and welcom on board

Tony,
Thanks for the welcome.
I've just begun collecting in a random sort of way.
I went to one of the l,ondon shows a few years back but assume they are probably bigger now.

Welcome Curassier! I also started collecting kind of randomly, when I stumbled across a little shop in Manhattan called "B.Shakman's Toys & Novelties" which had a showcase full of glossy W.Britains Toy Soldiers just like ones I had alwasy coveted in a Hobby Shop near my school growing up. I couldn't resist buying a set . . . and then another . . . it really is a great hobby!

No problems

Do come to the London show we run it now and it is loads better than before (my own trumpet and those of a lot of other show attendees) some times bigger does not mean better but in this situation it does.

Would be great to see you as it always is the other treefrog guys.........................Mind Curassier steer clear of that Rob guy you will see him he is the one that spends all the time around the K&C UK table dribbling over the dios.

Tony
