Well mate, I voted in your poll but I couldn't resist offering a few alternatives (with origins and meanings) as well based on your posts and such:
Kaitlyn
Meaning: Beautiful Little darling Celtic
Sabrina,
Meaning: Goddess of Severn River, Old English
Ariana
Meaning: Silvery, Welsh
Aerlene
Meaning: Elfin, Anglo Saxon
Boudicea

All lovely names Spit. But too gentle for My Precious Little Lotus Blossom..
I was thinking something more along the lines of Genghis might be more appropriate.....

-Delores
-Eleanor
-Ethel
-Edith
-Gertrude
-Matilda
-Mildred
-Myrtle
-Stella
-Thelma

Is this a joke?
Only one I might suggest to Mrs H is - Ethel..!! Mind you, I quite like - Mildred as well..!!
Wait a minute, I know.....Shannon.....I'll tell her it's a river in Scotland, not Ireland. She's bound to swallow that one. :):)

It's getting exciting now troops. After a slow start, Daphne seems to be gaining ground. The grovelling name is still ahead, but just by a nose. Hurry up and cast your votes. Only 8 days to go before this poll expires.

That's harsh:D I was going to suggest Boss or Yes Dear:rolleyes:

Harry refers to his beloved as " my precious lotus blossom" . Can you imagine a lotus blossom named Agnes ?

Hi Harry

Is this your "considerate & no offense" way of telling .... that July is turning out to be one very loooong month whilst we wait for Napoleon and his new Old Guard to show up .

If not ... you may want to consider Lizzy, for Elizabeth, and it sounds pretty close to Lucy too, so the rest of the world need not know the change.

Its a looong month

Why should you be different than the rest of us ;):D:D:eek:

:D:D

Harry,i'm guessing you have decided through fear of retaliation against 'Elspeth'!.How about as a tribute to the wonderful Blackadder 'Bernard' or 'Bob':D

:D:D:D "Scottish Traditional bloody dance music" ? ooooooo-oh that sounds lovely! Y'know the World's IS 16 Aug.-with any luck you can talk your Dad into going with you to Glasgow Green.Surely you'll not want to wait on the DVDs like I do :( As to the western friendly name thing-my sense from your posts is that something more Operatic is called for-however I'm voting your choice & suggesting changing yours to "Dick" to complete the pun-this may necessitate a surname renaming poll.Best,o.

OB,
Trust me, nothing will give me greater pleasure than to avoid Glasgow Green on 16th August - I'd rather contract the bubonic plague. Besides, if I were to order the DVD's - they'd just get "Lost In The Post" as usual.
Not sure about the operatic reference. Are you suggesting - BRUNHILDE..?? Or are we talking something more soap operatic..??

Dicktheheid....???
Hmmm....nope, while most of us support the praiseworthy quest for more accuracy in our hobby, it doesn't have quite the same ring about it as HtheH.

Cheers :)

OD,
What with all the proliferation of other meaningless polls recently, I thought I might as well contribute my meaningless poll.
But at least this one has a certain value.
Wonder if anyone, other than the usual 0.5% of members here, have figured out what that is yet....:rolleyes:

Cheers

Genious.....:cool::cool:

BOB........I like it, I like it a lot...!!!

"Brunhilde"?-howabout something less Wagnerian (though the armored brassiere & helmet might be fun) like Carmen ,Aida ,Iphegenia etc.?:confused:And for reader's wondering if I'm just trying to call you a RichardHeid ,the implied pun is Dick an Doris = Deoch an Dorus.:rolleyes:the RichardHeid thing is just gravy:eek:o.(and all this from a guy tacky enough to pull HIS moniker off a twisted Korean revenge flick)

My old man named me after the city near his military school:(:D:eek:. Maybe I could have done better if he had taken a poll:rolleyes:. So it's not really such a bad idea, unless you accidentally pick a name that sounds more like next months new release....
