I bought this kit a few years back in Paris on a whim when I visited that fabulous model soldier shop. I am completing the assembly of the figure on a simple wooden base. Notice how I use white putty to stick and hold the parts during assembly.

Hi John,

Metal Modeles.

I've readjusted the arms to fit properly onto the figure which has been sprayed with matt grey primer.

Victor,

silly me, I didn't recognise 'MM' on the name of this thread as 'Metal Models'

Now I have had a look at their site, he looks really nice with a coat of paint ....

Very nice ! In case you didn't know he is the father of Alexandre Dumas who wrote the Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo, and many more of my favorite books...

Hi Grognard,

I knew that. Read all of the books and Classics Illustrated comics too in my youth....:)

Hi John,

MM was founded by Bruno Leibowitz. I attended the first EuroMilitaire show in the UK many years ago and he had submitted many civilian figures which were all disqualified on a technicality!! It was obvious that his figures were of a quality hardly seen before.
He has a distinctive sculpting style and the company is now owned by another top modeller Ivo Preda, who also specialises in Nap figures.

I drilled out the opening for the bicorne and have painted the coat.

Good idea on drilling out the hat, it looks silly other wise, OK if the hat is on a table, but seeing it upside down, this is more realistic.

Hi John,

that's exactly what my other friend said...HAHAHA! I wonder how many other built models of this kit didn't have this done? ^&grin^&grin^&grin
