Hi Fellas. I am attempting to restore an old model of a Private of a Grenadier company of the 2nd Foot Guards 1815. He measures about 19inches high to the top of his magnificent busby. Unfortunately his thick white cross belts need renewing so could anyone suggest where I might get a leather substitute such as the type used in the Dragon in dreams models. They would not be suitable as he is much bigger than 1/6 scale. Real leather is too grainy, so I need pre cut thick cross belts, if there is anyone who could make them. Or does anyone know what sort of material Dragon in dreams uses. Thanks.

Ah, so it's a Dragon figure, or some other 12" figure, or actually larger?

My first thought for any material like that, is a fabric or sewing supply store. We have franchise stores here in the US where you can buy fabric, thread, and other supplies for sewing or tailoring. You can probably find a fake leather material to use to make new belts.

Post some pictures of your figure, please!

Prost!

Hi again. Have Att photo. He is very old but do not know how old. I have taken off crossbelts, knapsack ect to refurbish. As I said he is at 19 inches a lot bigger than Dragon in dreams figures. I will get him up to scratch and put him in a case. Think he lived in a smokey pub for years. Regards

Smokey pub? The stories he could tell. :)

Anyway, cleaning him will be quite the problem. Do post a picture once it's all done.
