Hi All,

Buoyed by my recent completed coach, and hankering to get back onto the saddle, I decided to start off with a single cavalryman.

I came across some wonderful looking Breyer horses (a treasure!) and decided to model a Mongol figure. Yhe horse head is Historex. Rest is resin. I like the high Mongol saddle seat and it looks easy to make, right? So here goes.

Not sure how this turns out but probably not glossy this time round.

Managed to work bit more on the piece.
The horse body had to be lengthened by about half a cm to look right. These breyer horse are cast in solid poystyrene so it wasn't easy to saw thru the body.

I also worked on the face.
