I saw in Sierras post Monongahela is retired? Is that true? Shelf was about to crack anyway, wonder how much the value of alot of those early figures will be? I have three sets I am still searching for may never find them. Boss will also be retired soon I think? Really leaves room for a new line just what I need!!! Any chance a new line will be announced in Chicago? Not released just announced.

I thought Mike (Sierra) said John would not be attending Chicago in his October releases thread?????:confused:

Thanks but in Sierras last post it says the now retired Mongongahela series. I buttume that means the line is done?
 
As I understand it from reading the various posts and threads on this forum, that Monongahela is retired, John won't be at Chicago and there are no immediate plans for any ranges in the near future. So I reckon more 1812, Jacobites, Raid on St Francis, PoA and few more BoSS to come.

Maybe we should start a poll on the next range we would love to collect?
 
That is my understanding. Monongahela is done with the exception of releases through the Collector's Club. Of course, John could change his mind.

As more indians.French militia and colonial troops are released you can add these to the Monongahela range as they can fit into most ranges except BOSS.

That is the perogative of a great toy soldier maker and it keep us on our toes much to our merriment!

Also Mark is spot on there is a lot of scope for interchange between ranges.

Isn't collecting JJD great?
 
Wow - That would be ashame if the BM series is done.

I would think you want to keep going on a true money maker like the BM - in this day in age - with the economy the way it is ... you might want to stay with proven winners. It is more likely for collectors to build on their collections than start new lines.

John does great work - I simply love the Braddock range and hopes he will change his mind.

I don't think John has closed the book on B of M completely...I'm pretty sure that some more of the collector's pieces will be for B of M.
 
When I met John a year ago he talked a great deal about the Braddock release bringing closure to the Monongahela line. How gratifying it was to see an entire line through to the end. He did say there may be a few more sets here and there, but that was more or less that. However, this is not an exact science and there is nothing to preclude him from adding more BM sets as he sees fit. There is a ton of new stuff to enjoy in the meantime and the Halket set is a nice addition to the BM line. :)

BTW: I think I read that John would be attending the East Coast show and would be at the next open house at the Toy Soldier Museum in PA (Oct?) That is a great place to meet him.

He will definitely be at the Toy Sodier Museum.
 
You no its funny, I haven't been to that Toy Soldier Museum. And its only 40 minutes away from me. I will defiantly have to go this year when the East Coast show comes up and Meet John himself.
