Does anyone have this model? There is one tanker leaning out of the side hatch. How do you get him to stay in place?

Same question for the tanker standing on the rear deck of the tank.

Terry,

I didn't have a problem with those figures sitting where they should. The tanker on the side balanced reasonably well as per attached photo and the standing commander balanced wherever there was a flat surface.

I wouldn't want to nudge the tank too much, otherwise I'm sure both would take a tumble, but , a couple of photos attached.

Exactly as Sir Simon says,i have this model and don't have problem balancing the crew figure.Once he's there just don't knock the Tank,or allow *****cat to investigate!

That's how i have my leaning crewman balanced too but i don't think it's meant to be like that. The door is meant to be open wide with the tanker holding onto the handle.

Doesn't work though! :)

That is what I meant. Balancing the tanker on the door does work, although he is holding the hatch handle in his right hand. And the standing tanker does balance on the hatch beside the turret - just not on the back of the tank behind the turret as in the advertising photo on the Figarti site.

I really like this piece but have found it to be more fragile than other Figarti pieces such as the Panzer IV. I have had to reglue 3 of the 4 fender ends and 2 fender plates. The metal strip at the top of the fender side is not glued the whole length of the tank but only at a few points. I do not know if they are all fragile like this?

I was considering using a small amount of non-permanent sticky tack or non-permanent white glue to hold the tanker in the hatch. I really do not feel comfortable just balancing him. Any thoughts?

Try Museum wax, it is a tacky wax that is used to hold vases etc. on display. It works, is clear and non staining.

Ooops

Never noticed that he was holding the hatch handle, or if I did, it didn't sink in to my nugget.
Yep, I can see your point now Terry, in which case, I'm afraid I can'rt come up with another solution other than the tacky wax type product already mentioned.

Yours is not alone in the fragile stakes. Whilst getting mine out of the box in a rush, I very quickly realised there was a lot of photo etched bits on it. Now that I know, I handle it a bit more carefully.

Well at least I now know that all of the Grants are more fragile because of photo-etched parts. I had not realized that till you mentioned it. The Figarti Panzer IV (with the red bicycle ) is built differently and is very sturdy. I think the Figarti Honey tank has photo-etched parts but seems much more sturdy than the Grant. Maybe they glue on my Grant was not applied well enough?

I ordered the Figarti Tiger with the full interior views. How sturdy is that one?

The Monty Grant is a fragile model and I have had to reglue the fenders etc, but the detail makes up for these shortcomings. I found the best place for the guy with the door handle and radio was in the top of the turret. He actually sits in there better than the other half figure with bino that's in the picture. I connected that half fig to his legs and have him standing beside the tank with the other standing figure that has a base.

The other half-figure is Monty. Show some respect. :D

That sounds like a good alternative. I had forgotten about Monty's bottom.

I like this tank but it is fragile and I had to have it repaired, particularly the fenders, as Oz mentions. This one seems more fragile than the other Figarti tanks I have. However, notwithstanding its fragility, it's a wonderfully made model.
