I really Like TSSD figures but they don't have rank and file Union infantry poses even in the Union set. Most are "characters."

Some "western" Union troops.

I've converted a few to cavalry fighting dismounted....

I've made some charging Union Infantry from the "guy thrusting around a corner figure" and "crazy Polish soldier" and others.

I like them too. I bought one of their ACW sets It has lots of different bagged sets including artillery and lots of cavalry. There is also winter coat figure sets.

Can you tell me more about your conversions? I would like to do some of the dismounted cavalry. I seemed to have misplaced some of the cav figures though. I found a few but not all of them.:mad:

I took the cavalryman firing from the saddle and cut away the legs w/o cutting away the sword. It's easier to cut away a little at a time to preserve the sword. I took the Union Guy with the arm sling and used his head and legs. I've also used legs from the Union Guy with long hair. (Both of these figures with the Colonel figure are loosely based I Think on characters from the movie Gettysburg)

Union Cavalrymen in photos sometimes are wearing the issue mounted trousers over their boot tops and sometimes tucked into the boots. Both boots showing and long trousers are "correct" so I use them.

I try to match the waists up as well as possible, them use a plastic rod pin plus Zap-a-Gap to connect them. I then use Milli-Put to fill in the gaps.

These Conversions are really original.
I have converted many TSSD guys.
You have given me more ideas.
Thanks - Denver

Did you see the conversion of the big Swede UKREB did for the battle of the MuleShoe? I believe that was two threads ago. Quite a piece of work it was too.

I have an extra "Big Swede" figure. I think I'll try him as a fallen wounded man as well.
