More Crusaders and Saracens coming!!! (1 Viewer)

Debrito/Toy Soldier Brigade, does your MK009 lean back on its base at an angle? The reason I ask is because the one on TF's 360 view is tilted back and I was wondering if they're all like that. I've passed on this figure before but am thinking of picking him up to go with my new Conte Medieval ship.

CS,
It does a little, but not that much...kind of arrogance attitude, but I loved this Knight.

There is another interesting set; the MK003 (see pic) this Knight wear a white clothe on the K&C website, but there is another option, with BLACK and red Cross….Very nice.

Rod.

I think all of this line are fantastic. I particularly find MK016 - Fighting Bishop - especially appealing. I guess its because I had never come across a painting or rendering of a fighting bishop when flipping through books on the Crusades. It certainly reinforces the religious nature of the wars.

Agreed, MK003 and MK016 are both absolutely beautiful figures as well!

Debrito, the regular MK003 (which I have) is probably K&C's best Templar figure and thus one of my favourite figures in my collection. The special version is a Hospitaller.

Chiefs70, in the Osprey book "German Medieval Armies 1000-1300" (Men-at-Arms Series 310), there is a colour illustration showing a German bishop with a similar mitre headpiece to the K&C one, and likewise armed with a mace. The illustration is labelled Walter von Geroldseck, Bishop of Strasbourg 1262. He isn't a Crusader but could have been, I imagine. This image may have been the inspiration for K&C's figure. Also, if you can track down the dealer special version of the Charging Knight with axe,(MK015(S)), he has the same coloured tunic as the fighting Bishop and looks great running beside him.

CS thanks for the tips....I will really check this out....Me too, I like the bishop, the colours are nice and I already create (in my head) a few close up photos for him…..:)

Ignite has made the Bishop in scale 1/6! He is quite nice!

I've seen that one. Ignite makes some great figures. The only difference is the Bish in the Osprey illustration has a red coat.

I guess you can tell I'm not a scholar of the Crusades... yet. :D

No, you're actually probably right about not seeing that mitre hat on the Bishop much - I think all these companies are basing it off that one Osprey illustration, for better or worse. But there definitely were a number of real battle Bishops in Medieval times, including the Crusades.
