Hi,

In the town of Rochefort, south west of France, a team of passionated people have undertaken a tremendous challenge The reconstruction of the Hermione, the ship on which La Fayette embarked in 1780, to bring help and support to the American insurgents.Since its beginning, the construction site is a true living show place, open yearly to visitors. Once the Hermione is fully completed, it is planned to sail again on La Fayette's journey, from Rochefort to Boston, in 2015, via the Franco-American historical stops along the eastern coast " The Lafayette trip".

Hi Jim,

Normally, the boat will be in NY harbour for the 4th july in 2015. I've visited it two days ago and the boat looks like a real frigate of the XVIII century. In order to build it they used old indications about the Hermione class.

Valmy 33: Thank You for posting this beatuiful ship. How interesting this is. I am from Connecticut and live in Florida now. In Connecticut there is a town called Mystic and during the days when they wuold hunt whales they built the ships to do this. I watch the ship Amistod being built there. Is was a slave trading ship. My wife and I were at Op Sail 2000 in New London, Connecticut and what a show of ships that was from all over the world. Thanks again: "Mr Colt 45"

You're welcome Mr Colt. I'm glad that you like that.

In 2015, during spring and summer, Hermione will be in Norfolk, Annapolis, Baltimore, Philadelphie, New-York, Newport, Boston and Halifax harbors.

I will watch what you write cos I'm really interested in it. Many thanks Mr Colt.:smile2:
