I just came across Morgan Minatures on the web. They have different era's but their main thrust is in the Conquest of Mexico figures. They look pretty neat on the web but I have never seen these before in shows or in any shop that I have visted. Does anyone own some of these or know about them. I would really like to get some advice before I order some. They look great. Please advise. Thanks.

I have ten figures divided between Conquistadores and Aztecs.
Nice figures in 60mm scale.
Decent painting with some nice colors on the Aztec clothing and accessories.
Limited poses with interchangeable headwear.
Also a little pricey but if you are interested in this period you dont have much of a choice.
Let me know if you have any specific questions.
 
Thanks for answering my post. I just returned from a conference. I thank you for the info. Are they real 60mm or closer to 54mm. Just wondering if they would go well with my plasitc 60mm aztec figures. I also have the 54mm Brazro figures too. WHere did you get yours, at a show? store? or thru the mail. I see that Michagan TOY Soldier now carried them. I was thinking of making an order thru them but would really like to see and touch one first. Thanks once again for your assistance.

They are definitely 60mm figures.
I purchased them from Michigan Toy Soldier.
In my opinion they would rate a "B" grade where K&C gets an "A" and John Jenkins a "B+".

I wanted to do a small Conquistadore vs Aztec diorama to round out my interest in "Americas" history of warfare.
I am happy with the figures but again think they are on the pricey side for the "B" quality.
 
I love these figures,there's not much for this period in history,you have to remember that its totally a one man band,i have never had a problem with this company or their figures,the figures are available as castings if you want to save some money!The only slight downside is that they don't supply their own boxes with any labels,just plain white or a brown box.I have spoke to the owner and expressed my reservations ordering via post,he said any problems he would fix or supply alternatives free of charge.You can view some of my Aztec Figures on my London show postings;)
 
Thanks to both of you for your inputs. I am going to take the plunge and order a couple from MTSC and see how they come out. I look forward to holding one and will let you know my thoughts once I have a chance to examine one up close. Thanks once again.

Like yourself, I have an interest in the Aztecs. I will be very interested in your evaluation of the figures once you receive them. I am hoping they meet with your approval!

I received my first two Morgan Figures today. One Aztec and one conquistador. Both are well painted and heavy. I would say that they are heavier than most lead figures. The details on my two figures are very good. I would compare them to King & Country style and detailed as well. The only negative thing I would say is that it seems that the Aztec is slightly smaller than the Conquistador. But I liked them enough to make a second order. The price is steep but I will see what the next two figures look like before I decide to order more. One neat thing that I noticed on the Aztec is that the ears are deformed and elongated as I have seen in several pictures of the Aztecs. I thought that was a cool detail that most manufactures would have overlooked. The conquistador I received had a funky color combination but I have read that each figure is unique. I guess I just received a funky color combo. Anyone else find something unique about your figures?

Thanks for sharing your evaluation of the Morgan figures. Based on your impressions, I will look at these figures more closely and consider adding some to my collection. If you have the means and the motivation, I would very much enjoy seeing some pictures of your figures.

Glad to hear you're happy with the figures,i really just cannot get enough of these figures at the moment,i have to admit they are pretty colorful that's what attracted me to them in the first place,i am saving up for some more conquistadors (possibly the cannon) at the march London Show.I hope they produce some mounted figures,i will try and speak to the owner;)

I just received my next two morgan figures. Both of them are painted very well and the poses are fantastic. I was slightly disappointed with the face of the conquistador (without hat) as his face was rather sad. Without a hat, you kind of focus on his face more. Anyway, another observation that I can now make is that the Aztecs are chunkier than the conquistadors. I like it but would they be chunkier in real life? I guess they ate well. Anyways, I wanted to let everyone know that I was very pleased with my second set of Morgan figures and will order two more figures this month. I will keep posting updates as I receive them. If I ever learn to post pictures, I will also post some of them too. Thanks for sharing.

These do look pretty interesting. I note that they have many variations on similar poses, particularly on their website and that they also have a Napoleonic Spanish guerrila range.

There was a whole table of these at the London show last week and those Spanish guerrilas took my fancy as stand-ins for my Alamo defenders-would have needed a little bit of conversion work on their striped stockings and "ballet shoes". Quite heavy and well painted with a price tag that was fairly reasonable- somewhere between £10-15 per figure.

I meant to go back to the stall and pick up a couple but got waylaid in the bar by the Brit Frogger Brigade and forgot :confused:

I remember that they also had the full Aztec range as well but those Spanish Naps definitely caught my eye-Definitely next June;)

Glad to hear they are expanding their line. I am well satisfied with the 4 figures I have. Well buy more too.

Today I received my third pair of Aztec and COnquistador. They ae great. I now have Aztecs 1 -3 and Conquistador 7,8, and 10. The detail on these figures are awesome. I can only afford two at a time but I wait patiently for the next batch to come in. Slowly, I will get my Aztecs to rise up and avenge their last defeat!!!!! This is great fun.:D

Sorry, all of [our] 28 Morgan's. They looked good in Michtoy's room at the show. Will probably continue this field with Jenkins but competition is always good for quality! These are great figures made in the good old Country.
 
I bought US cavalry years ago but now it does not answer my messages. Are you still in business?
